West Ham encouragement for FA Cup replay
West Ham will have been very encouraged by the defeat of Bristol City in their League clash at Preston North End yesterday whilst the Irons squad continued to enjoy their mid winter break.
The Robins were some way from the team that forced a draw at the London Stadium in the third round of the FA Cup being defeated 2-0 by their Championship hosts
Preston are placed eleventh in the Championship and City 14th but Hammers replay opponents were were never good enough against a team who only achieved their their second clean sheet in 22 games.
City have now gone three games without a League goal and have lost two on the bounce, and rarely looked like troubling Preston keeper Freddie Woodman.
It was all good news for the Irons who will be without key players on Tuesday evening in Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus, Antonio and Aguerd.
However, we can only hope that fringe squad players set up at Ashton Gate with Benrahma, Mavropanos and Fornals presumably having to be involved.
It seems likely too that David Moyes will include Danny Ings rather than Divin Mubama who has not been too effective on his recent appearances.
The Hammers team may look something like this: Fabianski, Coufal, Mavropanos, Zouma, Emerson, Alvarez, Soucek, Ward-Prowse, Fornals, Benrahma, Ings.
