West Ham Board Back Paco — Nuno Handpicked His Right-Hand Man
Following yesterday’s comments from Freddie Potts praising the impact of Paco Jémez, Claret & Hugh contacted our top source at West Ham United to get their take on the Spaniard’s influence behind the scenes.
Asked whether the board and senior management were aware of just how much of an impact Jémez has had on the playing squad, the response was unequivocal: “Absolutely yes.”
Our source was also keen to stress how instrumental Nuno Espírito Santo was in bringing Jémez to the club, explaining: “We asked him (Nuno) to bring in a new and experienced coach to shake things up and give him support. It was 100% his pick.”
Paco Winning Over Players, Fans — and Now the Board
Jémez appears to have won over supporters, Nuno and the players in remarkably quick time since arriving in January — and now it seems that approval has extended right up to board level.
With results improving and performances tightening up, his influence is becoming increasingly obvious both on the training ground and on matchdays.
The only lingering question now is whether this change has arrived early enough to fully rescue West Ham’s season.
But one thing is clear: Paco Jémez isn’t just a popular figure in the dressing room — he’s a Nuno appointment, fully backed by the hierarchy, and already leaving his mark.
I for one am not surprised at Paco’s influence on the Team. Since Nuno was appointed from my perspective the Irons have made gradual improvement and his recommendation for his assistant is part of this improvement. The future is the key we must keep on getting better and compete in every match.
So long as they stop useing sub late on in games, and still sometimes being to safe in defending, . Close top teams down in opponents half, and for game and more goals will come, to take games as early as possible.
Stop taking the likes of Bowen, Summerville off, especially Diouf the way he played Man Utd.
Up you hammers
followed west ham fc for over 55 yrs.
You may have followed them for 55 years Frank but you need to pay better attention to what is happening on the pitch before making bland generalisations about substitutions.
Did you watch Tuesday’s game? Summerville had offered nothing for the previous 15 minutes, Bowen has been run into the ground lately and Diouf was so tired he managed an ‘air shot’ and almost gave away a penalty in the minutes before going off. Nuno was spot on in making those changes.
PS I have been actively watching West Ham for 63+ years 🙂.
Wanted by Forest oh no
