West Ham Exclusive: Bids in as Hammers Get Transfer Ball Rolling

West Ham have bids in for players now, Claret & Hugh has been informed by a top club source this lunchtime.

The news came after we made an enquiry about progress in the transfer market during what has been a stagnant and unproductive window.

It’s fair to say that faith among the fanbase is low. There’s little belief that West Ham are being proactive when it comes to recruitment—especially given the lack of signings so far this summer.

However, a senior London Stadium insider has confirmed that the club have already submitted active bids for players. As always, the proof of the pudding will be when the board actually land a signing. Up to now, there’s been plenty of talk, but very little action.

This morning, we asked how quickly the board would move once the first sale—believed to be Mohammed Kudus—goes through. The response was clear: “No, we have bids for players in NOW. Dealing with agents and clubs is tough though.”

With Graham Potter and Kyle Macaulay believed to be identifying targets—and, in some cases, speaking to players directly—the pressure is now on David Sullivan to close the deals.

Reading between the lines, recommendations have clearly been made and targets identified. News that bids are already in is encouraging—but until a player is signed, sealed, and delivered, fans will remain understandably sceptical.

As per normal sulls puts a low ball bid in he should up it to a cheese and tomato sammie and cheese and onion crisps crisps it would be better than the insult he normally bids he’s quite happy to spend on his new car theres never a problem there

Expecting one of our best to end up at spurs, what happened to we don’t sell to our rivals, telling the word we have no cash until we sell, whose idea was that, watching the cream get snapped up because we are broke, genius, soon to tell us the best youth have been snapped up so we are reevaluating to experience, inevitable.

“Dealing with clubs and agents is tough though”
My sympathy is with Sully and the team because it must come as a terrible shock every single transfer window when teams reject our pathetic low ball offers that are less than half the player’s value.

For context we had signed Luis Guilherme on the 16th June last year. Kilman was on 6th July. Then everything went very quiet until August. We have already signed the lad from Celtic and Todibo on a permanent deal. If we sign another player in the month of July we are on the right track. I suspect we will sign 3 or 4 this month so they can have a half sensible preseason and to make up for the players we released. We also have youngsters who will be reviewed in pre season for a place in the first team squad. I’m really not subscribing to this relegation battle thing. If we sell Kudus, Paqueta, Aguerd and whoever else, then we will likely replace them on a one in one out basis, like other teams do. Lets enjoy the summer instead of sweating all over our collective keyboards agonizing over the board or asking for Potter to be sacked. If we’re still looking at the same faces mid August then we should start to panic, but not a moment before.

      Cheers Glenn, voive of reason.
Soo much negativity on this site.
The transfer season is early days yet.
Let’s hold our venting until September, and see where we are.

We can confirm that we have bid £1.50 & a pot of jellied eels for every player in Europe & are hoping that at least one player shows interest.
It tough going & so far no one has showed any desire to play for us, even the players we already own 🫣

A top source at the club has come back to me & said ‘unfortunately 96 yr old, Andy Carroll has stubbed his big toe & he will no longer be signing for the club’

  • Bennyboy baker says:

Just because we have made a bid does not mean that we got that player we heard all this before it always ends the same no one signs up why because Sullivan puts in low bids knowing that he will get knocked out of the running it’s a game they play so unless I see them in the shirt and know that they have signed on with us I won’t hold my breath

  • Ammers 66 says:

No low ball Sullivan bids hopefully

  • John says:

Bin there , done that brought the tea shirt, same old same old. Sorry to be so pessimistic but I’m a true WHU Life long supporter and this is true to form.

  • John Harrison says:

Two months until it closes on Sept 1st..A bit early for all the despair.

    • Tony says:

No it isn’t. Every window without fail sees the board making lowball bids to try and convince us fans they are trying knowing full well the bids will be rejected. Meanwhile other clubs are snapping up the players WE need then towards the end of the window we end up buying or loaning what’s left at the bottom of the barrel.
We should really be called the Seagulls instead of Brighton because that’s how our board acts. Circles around until finally flying down and feeding on the scraps

    • Jay says:

Exactly right, John. A little perspective is needed.

    • Andy says:

      Could be bottom by then

  • Essexiron67 says:

Let’s hope it’s true and not another dead end

  • barkingsidebob says:

Westham are a broke joke club

  • Mark johnson says:

Putting in bids that can be negotiated on and getting the offer over the finishing line is one thing but submitting very low bids knowing they will never be accepted is another and then to justify their actions to the fan base saying we are submitting bits is worse. The owners have played this card many many times before. It’s not acceptable anymore.

  • Paul Taylor says:

Everytime I see Liverpool’s Tyler Morton I just see a very young Mark Noble MkII! Seriously his cross for the winner for U21’s was sublime, no dallying, just put it into a dangerous area and someone gamble! Level headed, unexposed, could be anything but what a prospect to have in claret & blue! £6/7m no brainer!

  • Barry says:

i needed a good laugh and this posting gave me that

  • Paul Basnett says:

    The old “wait and see”

The club could not have made itself seem more amateur than through this shambles. Any player with options won’t want to come.

When I was thinking about Moyes going, which I thought he should of, the next thought was this club cannot make good managerial changes what if we got lucky with Moyes and they muck everything up again.

    And here we are.

  • Beyond caring now says:

Bids in….why not report accurately, low ball bids in going to be rejected lose target player to a Brentford or Brighton, that’s more realistic.
In the meantime let’s all get ready to welcome our big Summer signings Calvert-Lewin and Brownhill…

  • R B K says:

You could make 100 bids but if they are low ball and derisory , as typical of Sullivan and Co ,
yet make absolutely no sense .
Sullivan is incapable of closing any transfer unless his agent is involved

  • Burch says:

It’s the 1st of July, there is absolutely no need for the constant panic
