West Ham United convened an emergency board meeting last weekend following planned protests and a vote of no confidence in the way the club is being run.
Claret & Hugh has learned that some shareholders were so alarmed by recent events and negative media coverage that a meeting including Daniel Křetínský was hastily arranged.
The Czech billionaire usually leaves day-to-day dealings with the Hammers to close associates and WHU Holdings directors Pavel Horský and Peter Mitka. However, on this occasion C&H understands Křetínský became personally involved.

The intervention follows the Fan Advisory Board’s vote of no confidence, which called for David Sullivan and Karren Brady to resign from their executive roles. The move has reportedly caused a degree of panic in a boardroom already described to C&H as “a mess,” with divisions growing between shareholders.

Ultimately, with David Sullivan holding the majority shareholding, there is only so much minority investors can achieve. The Gold family’s 25% stake remains the most significant factor, but C&H understands talks with a potential buyer collapsed last week after a meeting.
It’s believed the Gold shares are available at a lower valuation than the rest of the club, but overall West Ham are widely regarded as too expensive—limiting the prospect of any major takeover.
For now, the best chance of change appears to lie with Hammers United and the FAB’s demand for Sullivan and Brady to step down. What has become clear, however, is that figures such as Albert Tripp Smith and Křetínský are ready to push for immediate adjustments to how the club is run.
If nothing else, the looming protests, the no-confidence vote, and heavy media scrutiny have grabbed everyone’s attention behind the scenes at West Ham.
I don’t understand why we are still having these discussions about the board!? If there are enough people who don’t like this regime then stop attending home games. IF you don’t like them stop showing them you care. IF you don’t attend it sends a very clear but peaceful message. By attending the home games you are endorsing their actions – IF you don’t attend the home games it has more impact than attending and shouting abuse – and that has a negative impact on the players and we don’t want or need that!
Well whatever. It will not be affecting my pension. Miserable crew from FAB have their ideas on what should be happening to make their opinions valid. However they do not have any clout whatsoever when it comes to playing with other people’s money.
Get back in the box. Sit back and watch events unfold. It would be more helpful if we could oust the foul-mouthed and abusive paying guests in and around London Stadium.

Sullivan and Brady have been taking the fans for fools ever since they have been at the club
Brady has offered to meet the Advisory board…why would anyone want to meet with this two faced talks out of the side of her mouth and her backside piece of work.
And funny how talk of another possible takeover emerged after Sullivan and Co have seen the depth of animosity from fans for the themselves and the rest of the money grabbing only in it for profit board.
This is a big turning point in our clubs history and without covid to stop the wave of protests planned we fans need to keep the pressure growing on them and get our club back from the parasites and faceless board members who do not care that they are destroying our club…Get them out and if we win against the spuds don’t forget that this is not about the results this is about the soul of our club and we need to save it.
Sadly this is typical of the reactive nature of the Chairpersons.Nothing seemingly is proactive, even when the operational emphasis changes, its generally been half hearted, uncohesive, scrapped and revert to type thereafter. Big infrastural changes are demanded and required. Certain shareholders need to step aside and allow more modern day strategists and best in class executives with a more holistic approach to steer the club forward, but most importantly restore our DNA and identity on and off the pitch. We’ve drifted so far off course from the club that I fell in love with whilst growing up locally during the golden era of the ” sixties”.

Just need the Gold family to stand with Kretinsky rather than Sullivan and change can be brought about.

Happy days… I’m hoping that having signed two energetic midfielders we’re not as walk through as we were and that will make a difference. Get Bowen back out on the right, Summerville on the left and hopefully something will gel. That’s the optimistic view anyhow.
It’ll be interesting to see if there is any disruption to the game against Spurs on the weekend. The only disruption I’d like to see is to the Spurs top four ambitions. So a win for the Irons would help some fans feel a whole lot better! COYI !!!
