Fabrizio Romano’s claims that Tottenham are not trying to offload Yves Bissouma have been dismissed by a top transfer source speaking exclusively to Claret & Hugh this afternoon.
The Italian ITK is usually front and centre of transfer talk and, writing in his column this morning, insisted Spurs aren’t actively looking to sell Bissouma. However, we can reveal that the midfielder was in fact offered to his former Brighton boss Graham Potter TWICE this summer.
Bissouma, reportedly on £100,000 a week at Tottenham, is not seen as part of Tomas Franks long-term plans. West Ham were given the chance to sign the Ivory Coast born midfielder, who turns 30 this month, but rejected the proposal. Presumably Potter wanted to reduce the age of the squad which was subsequently proven by the purchases of Fernandes and Magassa.
Speaking directly to C&H, a transfer source confirmed: “He was offered as a loan swap when Spurs asked about Paquetá. It had no chance.”
It appears this was a last-ditch move by outgoing Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who is also believed to have included Bissouma in a package for Mohammed Kudus.
So despite today’s reports, it seems the midfielder is very much available—if anyone is willing to take him.

I think that you will find Bissouma’s international allegiance is to Mali – although he was born in the Ivory Coast
