West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus has submitted a transfer request in an attempt to force through a move to Tottenham Hotspur. And it would appear as if Daniel Levy has got one over the Hammers with a trademark lowball deal.
That’s the latest from a top source at the London Stadium, who spoke exclusively to Claret & Hugh within the past few minutes.
The disappointment of losing one of West Ham’s best players to Spurs cannot be overstated. When we put it to the club insider that almost any club other than Tottenham would have been preferable, the response was:
“Not 100% done, not great payment terms, but the player has put in a transfer request and they’re the only show in town.
All money will be used to bring in new players.”
It now seems late interest from Chelsea has failed to materialise, and Kudus is on the verge of completing a switch to North London—despite the deal not yet being fully finalised.

Kudus is close to leaving West Ham
The 24-year-old Ghanaian is understood to have already agreed personal terms via his agent, and Tottenham have provisionally booked a medical.
Claret & Hugh understands that the ‘not great terms’ refer to the structure of the deal, with the £55m transfer fee set to be paid in instalments over several years—a hallmark of Daniel Levy’s hardball negotiating tactics.
More information will no doubt emerge, but one thing is clear: Levy may have just got exactly the deal he wanted from West Ham.
Well done west ham, selling a top player to them lot, for less than his release, clause, great business, championship, here we come
Does Mohammed Judus know what he’s doing?
Of course. He is big enough to know what he’s doing.
Looking for a greener pastures, and he’s found one
I just cant believe what’s going on here We have a depleted and aged squad So what do we do sell our best and young player on the cheap
Sullivan trying to cover his backside again with the transfer request narrative. He’s been trying to flog him for weeks, along with anyone else he can add to the firewall. Worst run club in the premier league by a mile.
Spot on, his MO all over. Shambles once again
I have supported this club for over 60 years and its always been the same, poor financial management, lack of ambition and always management willing to sell player to generate funds. West ham used to sell their best player or players every year. Allen, Ince, Defoe, Cottee, Ferdinand, MacAvennie, etc, etc etc,. Lets hope Mohammed Judus lives to regret his decision, as he will now be reviled as much as a certain Paul Ince was, and still is, in my household!
The only hope is that Potter, with sufficient funds from the sale of Kudus, can now assemble a team that can compete next season.
Good business, we can now buy and move on. He was a decent player but we couldn’t manage him for whatever reason and therefore become a liability. This is a positive for us guys, look forward to start building a team for the new season.
Pathetic
Loser club
Kudus had a poor season as he was left isolated. I don’t blame him for wanting out.
The key now is how wisely we spend the money. Alas I have no faith in Potter or Sullivan.
Could of said no your going nowhere till our valuation was met
10th richest board in the world and we sell our best players because they don’t want to stay because of no ambition
The club is a circus 🎪
Did sullivan put on some lippy before he bent over???
Every time I think west ham can’t kill my love of football anymore, they pull something like this!
Get shot, terrible attitude and bang average last season, he may start well at Spuds but character will resurface at some point and see him show the same traits.
Sullivan out done by Levy. He’s simply not the man to have control over transfers. Too old, too old fashioned, too slow.
If we based our budget on receiving £65m for Kudus we are now looking at one less player in, or one lesser player in.
If the facts are correct then this should be the last time we ever deal with Spurs. Expect the fans to give Kudus a hard time and it will be deserved. Again a poorly handled transfer, can’t get the money for him then tell him he’s playing for us next season or never get it a match day squad. Let’s face it he hasn’t played well this season and he agreed to the sell on clause of 85k. Can’t anyone at the club man mange?
Wiping the floor with us again
We need to get used to being a small club st the bottom (close) of the food chain.
Is it ok to say I don’t believe a word of it? Sulli through his mates has been peddling an anti kudus narrative for a while now just as he has done with other players he sells, set them up as the bad guy and then say what could we do he forced our hand! If he has put in a transfer request then I think he would forego any loyalty payment from us, I really hope we aren’t told at some point in the future that we had to pay him this bonus, but I’m certain we will see this when they’re trying to tell us they’ve got no money.
He didn’t show much by way of overcoming the two and three up marking last season, ran into brick walls time and time again I suspect is the reason for the limited interest.
He was nothing like the season before and may well now be a known quantity that has been rumbled.
The club is a circus, they can be entertaining something we ain’t
Just don’t accept it. Simple as. Easy to negotiate when one party has a greater need than the other. He’s under contract!!
Only Weat Ham will sell a player so far below the release clause. Levy has played Sullivan like an amateur
Why would West ham let a player with an £85M release clause go for £55M to Spuds? It doesn’t make any sense. Been waiting for some good news about players coming in to strengthen our squad and this is what we get. Why do the loyal who fans continue to put up with this
Well done to all concerned if this goes through. Progress towards Graham’s Game now seems inevitable. COYI
Kudus will also be reviled at the LS for this.
I don’t think Kudus will be bothered about that. He’s laughing all the way to the bank!!
And… there’s no such thing as a “loyal” player these days.
well.. look at the “Guilherme’ article…
Just a joke
So Payet all over again and Sullivan not prepared to hold a player to his contract until an appropriate price and payment terms met; we truly are a joke and sooner Sullivan gone the better.
So the spin begins…..does not matter if he hands in a request you refuse it until price is met….but nope they want to pay of the loan due and pocketed the rest as for Potter i would walk mate as he is not going to be backed
Amateur
Pathetic
Embarrassing
Humiliation complete.
A squad rebuild which left us with just one saleable asset has now garnered a £15 million profit, whilst stripping us of our only mobile midfielder.
Next season will be fun !
It’s one thing to be mugged off but another to get mugged by them.
Joke.
Don’t sell him to the spuds. Don’t care if he’s put in a transfer request. If they really want him that bad then pay going rate. Typical West Ham. We should be sponsored by John Lewis. Never knowingly under sold!!!
Shame we didn’t get £60 million in advance, now let’s make signings and back Potter can’t leave. Been far too slow in this window .
Why do we have to be bullied, he’s our player & under contract regardless of a transfer request. If a team doesn’t pay our price then he stays & if they offer below what we want then Kudus can make up the difference if he wants to leave. Surely that’s just sensible business. If he wants out but ends up staying then have a bloody good season & you maybe can go in January or next summer.
