West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá has been reported this morning as pushing for a move to Newcastle United.
The recently acquitted Hammers star is now free to be sold, although it is understood West Ham are not actively looking to sell him.
On Friday, fresh links emerged to Manchester City, who were said to be considering a renewed bid and keen to drive down Paquetá’s £50m price tag by offering Jack Grealish as a makeweight.
Now, speculation over Newcastle has surfaced. Claret & Hugh contacted a source close to the player—who kept us informed throughout his FA hearing—to ask if Paquetá was agitating for a move to St James’ Park. The response was emphatic: “No, nonsense.”
Paquetá is known to be extremely grateful for the support he received from both the club and West Ham fans, and he is happy to remain at the London Stadium.
The 27 year olds wife took to social media last week to reveal her husbands love for West Ham fans, and he has been described as ‘happy and content’ in East London.
While his closest friend in football—Bruno Guimarães—plays for Newcastle United, it’s clear that claims of the “Paq-Man” pushing for a move to the North East are without foundation.

Of course any source close to Paqueta would deny it, especially to a West Ham news outlet. I wouldn’t blame Paqueta for wanting to go to Newcastle though. If no Man City move for him I would say Newcastle would be perfect for him with his best mate being the captain. I would take the money personally, I think he’s been rubbish since Prague and he really slows down our midfield.

So, Gonzo, can you tell us exactly who reported Lucas Paqueta pushing for the move to Newcastle? Because the rest of your article seems to say the opposite. Click bait or what?
Ouch. That’s not very fair.
If he wants to go then let him
But do not want Barnes or any other player in the deal
Cash only and Porte can buy the players he wants
I think Paqueta probably needs a fresh start
All the best to him if he decides to go
Hope he comes good for us again but if I’m being honest if we could sell him and get Elliott as a replacement I would be delighted.
He’ll be grateful for the support but he’s still take the chance to play next to Guimaraes in the CL rather than a relegation scrap.
Great article, classic case of 2+2=747324. Just because he’s friends with Bruno G doesn’t make him a target for Newcastle or that he’s pushing for it.
