Arsenal and Chelsea have both reportedly held “exploratory talks” for West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus, according to The Sun.
Now, I have to confess—‘exploratory talks’ is a new one on me. It sounds more like an unwelcome medical procedure than anything football-related. But assuming it means “a quick chinwag without making a formal offer,” it would appear interest in the Ghanaian is still ongoing.
Earlier today, it was reported that Kudus has changed agents—something that usually signals a desire for either a new contract or, more likely in this case, a transfer.
Most West Ham fans have probably already resigned themselves to the idea of Kudus leaving this summer. The same five clubs have been linked so often that whoever finally lands him won’t be much of a surprise.
As for the latest reports of talks? Well, it’s hardly a shock—especially in Chelsea’s case. Claret & Hugh wrote two weeks ago that the Hammers rejected a part-exchange offer from the West Londoners. So if that’s what qualifies as “exploratory,” then we’re already well past that stage.
Which brings us finally to Arsenal. The Gooners appeared to be using the Lady Brady negotiating handbook by offering the Hammers a take it or leave it £50m offer for Kudus which we didn’t fancy.
At this point, there’s very little left to explore. West Ham have set their price, the buying clubs know it, and now it’s simply a case of put up or shut up.
This one’s been dragging for a while—but when a serious bid finally lands near the asking price, I suspect the deal will be done very quickly.
Good to see you back Gonzo 👍
I just hope that Kudus is a where that he is ”NOT” the 1’s player 2 be sold to bolster the team with 3 or 4 players because we’re in the crap up 2 our ears and beyond. in my huble opinion i think we’re making ”A-BIG-MISTAKE” getting rid of Mo. i think he would of settled down under Potter and got the form back of the 1’s season he was here. and i hope who ever is representing him now get him the money per week i think he deserves at least 125.000 what Ings was earning for warming up the bench near every week. i wish him the best of luck where ever he ends up playing C O Y I ‘s
Cheers Paul.
Have a Day off John,no one wants their team to go down anytime,if we go down it’s due to not being good enough,as for Sullivan, sure he’s a snake, but managers have been backed in windows, just bad buys, get him to sell up would be the answer, maybe potter will go with youth,we got nothing to lose.
Before anyone accuses me of being a fair weather fan and not a true supporter I was born and bred at the upton park end of green street. I attended my first game with my old dad in 1960 ,( Sheff utd I think). I’ve seen good times and shit times and been to more away games than most.
I.find myself detached from the club more now than ever. It stopped being my West Ham after the move to ” a world class stadium”
They mugged us all off. And I.sort of hope we go.down next year. Just to make Sully lose money but more importantly to make that…………. [edited MT; “nasty man’ will suffice, John.]
/ There you go rant over ….
