Sky Sports have reported that West Ham United are considering a move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah as they look to strengthen their backline following the potential departure of Kurt Zouma. However, the Sky report should be taken with a pinch of salt given the breaking news of a Hammers medical for Nice defender Jean Clair Todibo.
The Hammers have been active in the transfer market this summer, and the addition of Chalobah would further bolster their defensive options. The 25-year-old has shown glimpses of his talent at Chelsea but has struggled for consistent playing time.
With Zouma set to leave the club, West Ham are in need of defensive reinforcements, and Chalobah could be seen as a suitable replacement. However, the Hammers will face competition from other clubs for the Chelsea defender’s signature.
However, with the Todibo deal looking increasingly likely by the hour, it would perhaps require the exit of Nayef Aguerd to provide additional funds to make a bid for Chalobah.
As the transfer window draws to a close, West Ham will need to act swiftly to secure their defensive targets and ensure they are well-prepared for the upcoming Premier League season.
IF we are in for Chaloba it’s probably more so due to his ability to play right back
Good shout, looks like Loopy will be looking to switch in and out of a back-4 and back-3 & vice-versa.
With Mavs, Killman and Aguerd, a right-sided CB makes sense?
Also his flexibility to cover as centre back.
24 years old and classified as homegrown.
Looks like Tobido is a done deal.
I doubt that we will sign Chaloba if Todibo is confirmed.
Although Chaloba is a very good defender and will surely raise the level of the defence.
We should sign chalobah if we can get him for £25m as he can cover centre back and full back positions.
