Another Winger Enters The Frame
Taking receipts of around £85 million into the transfer coffers was always going to ramp up West Ham’s silly season transfer gossip, with multiple players now being linked with a move to the London Stadium.
Today’s name is Dutch winger Anthony Musaba, who may be familiar to some supporters following his spell with Sheffield Wednesday during the 2023/24 season.
The 25-year-old now plays for Fenerbahçe and, if anyone were to look purely at last season’s statistics in the Turkish Süper Lig, they probably wouldn’t be overly impressed.
Clumsy comparisons have already been made between Musaba and Crysencio Summerville, which is understandable given they’re both Dutch wingers. Realistically though, there isn’t a great deal to compare between the pair.
West Ham are, of course, preparing for the probable sale of Summerville following an excellent World Cup which appears to have caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
There is little doubt the Hammers are assessing possible replacements because it would be asking far too much to expect the unproven Keiber La Madrid to start regularly, particularly at the beginning of the season.

Championship Form More Encouraging
Musaba wasn’t too shabby during his spell at Sheffield Wednesday and his first Championship campaign produced eight goals, which, looking back through his career, remains his most prolific season to date.
His more recent figures in Turkey have been considerably less eye-catching, although his opportunities have also been far more limited.
Personally, I’d be looking more towards Leicester City’s Ghana international Abdul Fatawu, who, in my opinion, has greater potential while possessing the same raw pace which is evident in Musaba’s game.
