West Ham United are reportedly in the race to sign Hertha Berlin midfielder Ibrahim Maza, according to German outlet Bild.

Following David Moyes’ departure, West Ham are preparing for a new chapter under incoming manager Julen Lopetegui. The club is looking to reshape the squad this summer.

The Hammers have identified 18-year-old Maza as an exciting prospect. He has impressed in Germany’s second division with Hertha Berlin.

West Ham aren’t alone in their pursuit. Premier League rivals Brighton and Leicester City are also keeping tabs on Maza, while Bundesliga side Stuttgart has shown interest but been deterred by his £8.5 million price tag.

Scouts from all three Premier League clubs have watched Maza in action. Statistics from FBref show his talent for creating chances, ranking in the top 4% for expected assisted goals compared to other midfielders in Europe. He also demonstrates strong defensive awareness, placing in the top 7% for interceptions.

If the Irons can secure Maza’s signature, they would be acquiring a well-rounded young playmaker with a bright future ahead.
