Following West Ham’s failed bid for Jhon Duran, another target has emerged. Emanuel Emegha, a Dutch Under 21 striker playing for Strasbourg with 7 goals in 13 appearances, and 2 assists.

The 6ft 5” forward began his professional career at Sparta Rotterdam in 2020 before moving to Royal Antwerp. A transfer to Sturm Graz followed in 2022 where he scored 9 goals in 31 games. This alerted Strasbourg in 2023 who paid €13m to secure him on a five year contract.

West Ham have lodged an enquiry, however any deal may be difficult to finalise before the end of the transfer window. Blueco who own Chelsea and Strasbourg are reportedly not yet ready to cash in, and a move to Stamford Bridge is more likely in the summer.

However, with Kyle Macaulay joining West Ham from Chelsea to help with transfers, this link may develop. There are also some connections between both clubs as their President is ex West Ham player Marc Keller and the Head Coach is Liam Rosenior who is the son of former West Ham forward Leroy Rosenior.

There are a number of other targets that West Ham are also monitoring including Swiss International, Breel Ombolo at Monaco, and Genk forward, Tolu Arokodare.

For central midfield, West Ham haven’t given up on signing Ezechiel Banzuzi, yet do have the option to terminate Freddie Potts loan spell at Portsmouth which is a possibility should we not secure a player in his position.

Claret and Hugh will keep you posted on any developments and as mentioned previously it’s likely that there will be more movement nearer to the end of the window.

I have been a season ticket holder since the late eighties, so experienced the highs and lows of being a West Ham supporter. I previously wrote for OLAS and have contributed to a number of football publications in the past.

How will Chelsea be able to sign this young lad if Man Utd couldn’t sign JCT. Although Chelsea bend the rules to suit themselves

  • Hammerdale says:

    Underwhelming

Watched him play against Marseille on Sunday night he’s a real handful and scored a good goal

Why would any decent player like Wissa leave a club run as well as Brentford or Munoz at Fulham to join scum bag Sullivan and his circus. I have followed Hammers for 65 years home and away and through all of the turmoils but never have i been embarrassed to support them until now.

The Duran thing has run its course now; with the money being “offered” we could shore up multiple gaps in the team. Also, by making this offer, we a signalling to clubs we have top dollar in this window, which we clearly don’t. This is going to push up valuations and make negotiations much more difficult if clubs think we are holding out on them.

Brentford are looking for 22-25M for Wissa, wouldn’t that be a decent value signing for us?

Yaawwn!!!, the whole club transfer saga, director of football, Duran thing is a joke.. low bids, sorry we tried ran out of time etc. Its all wearing thin and frankly I’m passed caring. I’m leaning towards hoping we get no one and showing the porn baron up for what he is. Incompetent.
Rumour has it Haaland is up Bethnal Green having pie mash and eels and dildo boy is trying g to tempt him to us with an offer 5 million to Citeh and a few quid in his back pocket to the player

  • Terry says:

I have read so much regarding the Duran saga but I believe that the budget was blown by Steiden and sanctioned by Sullivan that there is now no money so any new arrival will not be seen until next season when we’ve sold off the best players again

  • Rock Hammer says:

I don’t think we can call £57M is derisory bid, regardless of the players value.
