West Ham are said to be scouting Serie A, among other leagues, in an effort to bring in a new striker for Nuno Espirito Santo in January.
Whilst the new Hammers gaffer is still in the embryonic stages of assessing his squad, it is believed he sought assurances that he would be backed in the transfer window.
It was telling during Nuno’s first game in charge of West Ham that he not only selected striker Niclas Fullkrug from the start, but also chose not to substitute him. Former boss Graham Potter reportedly instructed the board not to purchase a striker, but it would appear the club are now looking to strengthen the attack at the London Stadium in January.
Pellegrino Interest
The Hammers are reported to have joined Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest in monitoring Parma striker Mateo Pellegrino. The 23-year-old Argentine has caught the eye in Serie A, drawing interest from multiple Premier League sides. The big Spanish born forward has started the season in good goalscoring form picking up a man of the match awards in the process.
The young striker scored both goals in Parma’s 2-1 win against Torino at the weekend and there is little doubt he is very much the type of striker Nuno prefers. Pellegrino’s former club Velez, retain a 50% stake in any future resale, a share that could possibly complicate any future sale.

Shades of Chris Wood? Pellegrino could be a good fit for Nuno at West Ham
New Irons boss Espirito Santo is thought to be keen though, with his former club Forest also tracking the strike target. However, according to Italian website TuttoSport, Parma are unwilling to part with their frontman until at least next summer. The Italian club view Pellegrino as a key figure in their plans and are determined to resist offers for him during the upcoming transfer window.

Nunos tactics will be similar to Sam Allardyce. Long ball up to the big man in the middle who nods it down to a team mate in order to progress us up the pitch.
Diouf….centre forward….just a thought…
What’s with the rugby hat?
Honestly, I’d prefer we spend big on one or two really capable CD’s (vinyl defenders are so 80’s).
I think Callum Marshall is ready to go, young, quick, hungry, and… experienced.
Yes he’s only 20, but loans, first team training, and his ability to take on constructive criticism and improve. As pointed out two articles ago, when called out by his Huddersfield boss.
He’s a coiled spring needing to be released.
Plus, we have our BFG, and our old, tired but still effective freebie (who with the right players around him, will put himself in the positions to poach a goal or two).
Our left hand flank started to look frightening against Everton, Diouf growing into every game he plays, and Summerville frightening quick and skilful (look after those hamstrings!).
If this was my West Ham fantasy football team, with what’s available, I’d have:
Areola, Walker Peters, Mav, Killman, Douf – Maybe swap out one of the CD’s for Igor depending on how he goes.
Potts (rotate with Magassa).
AWB, Bowen, Mateus, Summerville.
Marshall.
AWB and Bowen on the right, Diouf and Summerville on the left, Marshall up front.
As an opposition team, I wouldn’t want to see that team sheet.
But I fix lawnmowers for a living…
Nuno, do your thing.
I love the Paq Man, but he’s leaving, I also think the EPL is too quick for him.
He shines when we dominate, otherwise he’s a passenger carried by the rest of the team.
Why would any decent player want to come to us. Just look at the way players and managers are treated.
