West Ham United are considering a move for goalkeeper Wes Foderingham to bolster their goalkeeping options, according to journalist Alan Nixon of The Sun
Foderingham, 33, was released by Sheffield United after their relegation from the Premier League. West Ham view him as a potential backup for their current goalkeepers, Alphonse Areola and Lukasz Fabianski.
With his contract expired, Foderingham is available on a free transfer, making him a cost-effective option for West Ham.
Foderingham could provide valuable experience as cover for Areola. But it is hardly going to give the likes of young Joseph Anang confidence as he will slip even further down the pecking order
The absence of a transfer fee does make this a potentially attractive deal for West Ham, potentially facing no competition from other Premier League clubs.
This possible signing could be the first step in West Ham’s squad overhaul under new manager, Julen Lopetegui. West Ham fans will be waiting to see if Foderingham becomes the first piece of Lopetegui‘s West Ham puzzle,
