West Ham Eye Shock Move for Chelsea Star Amid Crisis

West Ham appear to be becoming increasingly hurried and desperate in their recruitment as the full implications of a poor start to the season begins to set in.

Sky Sports are reporting that Hammers bosses remain interested in Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling on a story which has gathered new momentum within the past hour.

The news follows the Hammers’ horrendous start to the season, which has seen three consecutive defeats and 11 goals conceded. Whilst much of the focus has been on the goalkeeper, a porous defence, and a midfield lacking pace, it’s fair to say the attack hasn’t exactly shone either.

It would now appear West Ham are growing increasingly desperate as they attempt to repair the damage caused by failing to recruit early in the transfer window. As such, a move for former England international Sterling – who is out of favour at Chelsea – now seems a realistic possibility.

Claret & Hugh were told by a transfer source earlier today that deals were happening, although the name of Sterling was not part of that discussion.

Both Graham Potter and West Ham chairman David Sullivan have come under huge scrutiny in recent weeks following failures both on and off the pitch at the London Stadium.

Whether the recruitment of players such as Sterling will have any impact remains to be seen, but it’s clear panic has well and truly set in amongst the Hammers hierarchy.

So within a year our desperate attempts to boost goal scorers have brought us Niclas Fullkrug age 32, Callum Wilson age 33 and possibly next – Raheem Sterling age 30. And we are supposed to be lowering the age of the squad? Surely we should forget Sterling and give young Callum Marshall a chance. Perhaps with Bowen to the right and Summerville to the left he just might have a chance to shine.

The only transfer which would be worse than this would be Andre Onana and unfortunately there is a lot of talk about that in the press as well. Two over rated and overpaid has beens just like our owner.

This just seems like panic mode.
Or are they hoping Sterling will do same as Grealish for Everton?
Another goalkeeper, making 4, surely mid field and attack are more important.
Sangare is fraught with danger concerning numerous injuries any deal shouldn’t include obligations.
Still plenty of young affordable pacy options available but looks like Hackney not moving.

At this point in the window, I’d understand Sterling coming in. Can play on either wing, can play in the number 10 and can play up top.

Also would take our wingers up to 4 (Sterling, Bowen, Guillerme and Sommervile) should Potter be booted out.

Yeah, let’s pour some petrol on the flame’s that’s sure to work! Utterly clueless, pathetic and desperate! Sullivan need’s to step down, he’s past his sell by date.

No way in hell should we be wasting money of any kind of this over the hill in premier league standard player……Sullivans so called tactics have come back to bite him on the arse bigtime and now clubs who want to get rid of there overpaid and little work ethic players see us as a prime opportunity to do just that and Sullivans the mug who will bite

This would be the last straw. He’s absolutely useless and past it. Never had end product in his better days.
