West Ham United are monitoring the situation of Galatasaray winger Barış Alper Yılmaz as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
The 24-year-old has caught the eye of the Hammers with his impressive performances in the Turkish Super Lig and also having a prominent role in Turkey’s run to the quarter finals of this summer’s Euros. Yılmaz’s ability to create chances and score goals has made him a sought-after talent in European football.
However, West Ham face competition from several clubs for the winger’s signature, with Galatasaray expected to demand a significant fee of around €30 million. If the Hammers are serious about the lad, they will have to break the transfer record for a player being sold from the Super Lig.
He is obviously keen for a move as he has apparently been brushing up on his English ahead of a potential move to the Premier League.
He started 28 Super Lig games last season, scoring seven goals and Yılmaz is contracted to Galatasaray until June 2027.
The Hammers will need to compete with other interested parties to secure the services of the talented Turkish international.
