West Ham Eyes on Spurs as Relegation Rivals Face Palace Pressure Test

All eyes turn to Tottenham Hotspur tonight as they host Crystal Palace in North London in what can only be described as a huge game in both their and West Ham’s relegation battle.

There cannot be too many Spurs fans who believed, after winning the Europa League last season, that their club would find itself embroiled in a relegation scrap this close to the end of the Premier League campaign — but that is exactly where we are.

Tottenham are a club in disarray, dispensing with managers almost as readily as West Ham have in recent years. However, it was never supposed to unfold like this.

There was huge optimism at the start of the season following the appointment of Thomas Frank. And of course, who could forget Spurs pinching Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for the best part of £55 million.

However, despite a strong start, Frank’s honeymoon period did not last long. Boardroom unrest soon followed, culminating in Daniel Levy being removed as chairman of the football club.

Pressure Mounting on Tudor

Spurs have now appointed Igor Tudor who, somewhat unsurprisingly, is already being linked with the sack after just two Premier League defeats.

Another loss tonight against Crystal Palace could even see him under serious pressure after less than a month in charge.

Tottenham currently sit just one point above West Ham in the table, and there will no doubt be plenty of eagle-eyed Hammers supporters tuning in to see how events unfold in North London.

Tudor himself acknowledged the situation when speaking ahead of the match.

“Everyone understands the situation. There is something wrong if you don’t understand. My job is to put the pressure away, but their job is to accept the pressure is there.”

For West Ham fans, it could be a very interesting evening indeed. I’ll certainly be tuning in.

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.
