West Ham United are locked in a transfer battle with Brighton & Hove Albion for the highly-rated Paraguayan midfielder Diego Gomez.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye in MLS with Inter Miami, showcasing impressive talent and a knack for goal contribution. His performances have alerted clubs across Europe, with West Ham and Brighton emerging as frontrunners.

However, while the Hammers are keen on securing Gomez’s services, they have yet to formalise their interest with a concrete bid. Brighton, on the other hand, appear to be in advanced negotiations with Inter Miami, with a fee of around £11.6 million being discussed.

The race is now on for West Ham to hijack Brighton’s move and bring the talented youngster to the London Stadium. Gomez’s creativity, goal threat, and potential for growth make him an attractive prospect for any club.

With the transfer window still open, the Hammers still have time to mount a serious challenge for Gomez’s signature.
