West Ham United and Crystal Palace will renew their London rivalry in a pre-season friendly in Florida on Saturday night.

Both clubs have been using their time in the United States to prepare for the upcoming Premier League campaign, with mixed results. Crystal Palace have been in impressive form, securing victories over Crawley Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers, while West Ham suffered a disappointing defeat to the same Wolves side.

The match offers an opportunity for both managers to assess their squads and experiment with different formations ahead of the new season. With a number of new signings on the horizon for the Irons, this game could provide a glimpse into the club’s potential for the upcoming campaign.

West Ham welcomed Brazilian playmaker Lucas Paqueta to their Tampa Bay training base earlier this week, but he is not likely to be involved while building up fitness following the Copa America. Mexico midfielder Edson Alvarez suffered a hamstring injury at CONMEBOL’s continental tournament so is also ruled out.

Veteran left-back Aaron Cresswell captained the Hammers last week, and he should again feature in a back four that may feature new signing Max Kilman for the first time.

West Ham United possible starting lineup:
Fabianski; Coufal, Aguerd, Kilman, Cresswell; Soucek, Potts, Ward-Prowse; Kudus, Antonio, Guilherme

Despite the midnight kick off, CandH will be bringing you a match report in the early hours of Sunday morning.

  • Joe says:

You seem not to have noticed Greg that we had our most successful period in 50 years under Moyes.

You also appear not to understand the preseason

    • Greg says:

What beating the Cypriot pub team in the farmers league cup you call that success? What about the two relegation battles and the most goals shipped in our history. What about game after game of utter mind numbing dinosaur football? You like watching garbage then? That’s success? clearly a Millenial who thinks Moyesball is West Ham’s pinnacle. ImUtterly hilarious and so very depressing at the same time. Good riddance to bad rubbish

So I take it you didn’t go to Prague. Those of us that did had a fantastic time and that was down to Moyes. It was time for him to go as the quality of football was extremely poor for the last year or so.

  • Greg says:

Sorry I forgot the £400m that “genius” spent to leave us with this squad. What a joke

  • Charlie Farley says:

The results of these warm up/exhibition games are totally irrelevant as they serve the purpose to condition the squad over 45-60 minutes per individual. Expect everyone to get time on the pitch – most likely 22 players.
