A 50-year West Ham fan was injured by a beer bottle thrown by a supporter wearing a Crystal Palace scarf outside the London Stadium after the final whistle on Saturday evening.
The Hammer suffered a cut to the head and was taken to hospital where his wound was cleaned up and stitched.
The victim has since given a full description of the Palace fan responsible to the police and they have told the family they are confident in finding the individual as the incident was caught on the high definition CCTV system.
London Stadium staff and police will also be reviewing CCTV footage of away fans who let off two smoke bombs on Saturday evening within the stadium. They are also confident of identifying the individuals involved in smuggling in and letting off pyrotechnics. Once caught these supporters will receive stadium bans from West Ham and Crystal Palace as well as a visit from the police where they will face court proceeding for a three-year banning order.

Will you report on this then? Or just a carpet being burnt
Perhaps justice can be seen to be done in an equal manner to those throwing objects at Ayew after he scored the winner. Unacceptable either inside or outside the ground by either set of fans.
This Palace fan??? Probably goes to Millwall matches when Palace play away 🤣🤣🤣(fancy hiding behind a players name??? Absolute crass)
Can you trace the person that threw the coin that hit me inside he ground on Saturday approached a steward who didn’t give a hoot Block 117 row 10
All ive seen from this website since losing to palace is such sour grapes and salty news stories.
