West Ham fans give Pellegrini clear message over cup

Claret and Hugh readers have given Manuel Pellegrini a clear message regarding his approach to tomorrow’s game against Spurs in the Carabao Cup.

With nearly 1,300 West Ham fans voting in an online poll today nearly 76% believe the West Ham manager should field the strongest possible team on Wednesday night at the London Stadium and prioritise the league cup over the Premier League game against Burnley on Saturday.

Many supporters are hoping for a similar strong team that faced Leicester on Saturday evening with the exception of Mark Noble who is suspended. Pedro Obiang is expected to make his return from injury but Marko Arnautovic may need to wait for his return from the subs bench.

In previous cup games, Pellegrini has used the competition to give other squad players a chance but since Spurs is the opposition fans are hoping that tomorrow’s game is not one to blood more youngsters.

Full poll result: 1,293 votes received

Put the strongest possible team out against Spurs in the cup 979 (75.72%)

Give the youngsters a chance and rest some senior players for Burnley 314 (24.28%)
