West Ham United ‘s rivalry with Tottenham Hotspur has been alive and kicking – for Hammers fans anyway – for decades. The additional spice provided in last season’s relegation fight with the Hammers losing out to Spurs on the last day of the season and the contrasting scenes from both club’s Stadiums only added to West Ham fans’ chagrin as they faced up to life in the Championship.
Spurs meanwhile, to rub salt in the wound, continue to be linked with a ‘swoop’ for Hammers favourite Crysencio Summerville, as if it wasn’t bad enough that Mohammed Kudus swapped over to the dark side last year.
However a new claim this afternoon suggests that the Spurs won’t get their way and West Ham fans at least might not have to endure the sight of Summerville doing his thing in NW17 next season. According to teamtalk.com:
“Crysencio Summerville is expected to leave West Ham United this summer, and TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal that AC Milan have emerged as serious contenders for his signature, amid rival interest from Tottenham and Aston Villa.

West Ham fans might be spared the indignity of watching another former hero head to North London rivals
The Dutch winger is attracting growing interest following an impressive individual campaign despite West Ham’s disappointing relegation from the Premier League..Italian giants AC Milan have made checks on Summerville and are strongly considering a move as they begin planning for a potentially transformative summer.
The Rossoneri are still finalising their senior structure ahead of next season, with talks progressing over the appointment of former Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner.”
Whilst Irons fans will be sad to see him go, they’ll silently be cheering Milan on in their bid to steal the Flying Dutchman away from north London. It might make his departure that bit easier to deal with knowing that the Spuds lost out for once.
“
As a Spurs fan, I was sad to see West Ham go down, I was hoping Forest would. Despite what a lot of Spurs and West Ham fans think, I actually like watching the hammers and enjoy our matches regardless of the result as both teams went at it at least trying to play football. My hatred for the Woolwich and Russian cheats knows no bounds though. I was gutted when you left the Boleyn, it was a cracking ground. Hope you get back up at the first attempt.
If directors put their hands in their pockets (as promised) he could stay.
