West Ham Fans Put Relegation Survival First As Sullivan Protest Cancelled

Supporters group Hammers United have decided to postpone Sunday’s planned protest against David Sullivan at the London Stadium.

The club’s major shareholder had been set to come under intense scrutiny during the final fixture of the Premier League season against Leeds United following what many supporters view as the steady decline of West Ham United under his stewardship.

However, after Chelsea handed the Hammers an unexpected lifeline by defeating Tottenham Hotspur last night, West Ham now head into the final game of the season with a genuine chance of avoiding relegation.

As a result, Hammers United have chosen to pull the plug on the protest in a bid to ensure everybody inside the stadium is fully focused on events on the pitch rather than distracted by ownership issues which can wait until another day.

West Ham Focus Turns Fully To Survival

West Ham’s task is now very straightforward, although not entirely in our own hands.

First and foremost, former manager David Moyes and Everton must beat Spurs.

If that happens, the Hammers would then need to defeat an injury-hit Leeds side to secure Premier League survival.

It should make for an incredible atmosphere in Stratford and one I’d expect to be loud, emotional and fully behind Nuno Espírito Santo and the players.

Hammers United Issue Statement

Hammers United released a short statement on social media this morning which read:

“There will be no protests against Sullivan on Sunday.

“We’ve done it for all the games bar the first few.

“We’ve always got behind the boys. And we will do that on Sunday.

“We have to win.

“Spurs have to lose.”

And in my opinion, it’s absolutely the correct decision.

There will be plenty of time afterwards for recriminations aimed at Sullivan and questions over how West Ham have been dragged to these depths.

But while even the smallest glimmer of hope remains, everybody inside the London Stadium will be fully focused on doing our bit to help the team.

Just a thought gonzo could hammers united put in a written request for sullivan to stay away from the match as win or lose this could be the flash point we don’t need , let’s hope a higher authority , like the police, could advise him to stay away .This might sound silly but could prevent an embarrassing situation for the club.

      Two things,
      1) Why on earth should he stay away?
      2) And why would he listen or even should listen to any request by Hammers United (which are anything but)?

We can only hope we get the 2 results required but forget the injury hit Leeds, this has been the case many times this season and we’ve never taken advantage of it.

Could be the greatest day at the London Stadium or could be the worse day probably worse then the Burnley game. Plenty of stewards and police

It’s the right outcome given the circumstances. I suspect when the full time whistle goes and if things haven’t fallen in our favour then it might be a different matter.

I doubt there will be much chance to protest against Sully, doubtful he’ll be in the country let alone at the games next season.
