As the end of season crisis approaches its peril-strewn climax, few at West Ham can yet say with certainty in which division the club will be playing football next season. The heart says the Premier League, the head says the Championship with nearest rivals Tottenham taking a two point advantage into the penultimate weekend.
Largely through two straight defeats at the most damaging time of the season, the Hammers have ceded the advantage back to their north London rivals and now need a miracle to wrest back seventeenth spot for good before the final whistle is blown on this dreadful season.
West Ham fans may have to endure a 2002/3 style player exodus
The uncertainty extends to the possibility of just about any first team player being up ‘for sale’ should the club slide into the Championship, with fans already having to endure scare stories and news of ‘fire sales’ on a regular basis. The prospect of a 2002/3 style exodus remains a real threat.
Desperately out of his depth in the Premier League
Probably the only name missing from those rumour stories is that of West Ham defender flop Maximilian Kilman. It seems the Irons and he are wedded – or welded- together next season, as few suitors exist for surely the most over rated player (by price) in the Irons squad.
Even Newcastle United fans now look back with a cold sweat at the realisation that they nearly bid for him in 2024:

Recounts chroniclelive.co.uk: Few would argue with the sentiment but perhaps Kilman still has a place to play in a relegated West Ham squad that might need a rebuild for a Championship challenge. Perhaps, the club will finally find a level at which Kilman is comfortable. Sadly.
Ironically, he could yet prove to have a role to play after proving week in, week out under Potter and Lopetegui that he was massively out of his depth against Premier League attacks.
A second chance maybe? Redemption for Kilman next year?
Highly doubtful that he’ll be picked off the ‘sale’ rack at London Stadium this summer. With that £40 million ticket round his neck more like a millstone, fans are facing upto the likelihood that whoever else departs, Maximilian Kilman will be sticking around east London until the end of his contract.
Which is a very long way off. 2031 to be exact.
Whatever happens… Sullivan must go….It’s the only way we will come together as a fan base..Any other scenario and we will keep this incessant hamster wheel turning… Going absolutely nowhere…It’s his fault remember!!!…He has bled us dry ,!….He did the same at Birmingham…He can’t get it right because he is not a football man…He is a sleazy soft porn paper seller who has got lucky with his timing…The stadium and Moyes availability spring to mind… Please go so our club can move forward.
DoF’s first job. Solve the Maximillian Kilman problem.
Problem it is. A fortune was spent and tied up the first time a DoF managed to procure the services of Kilman. We need to appoint somebody to recoup this mis-spent outlay.
We are favourites to go down we have to win both games most likely I can see Spurs losing to Everton but can’t see worse than a draw against Chelsea and probably an easy win as the very suspect timing of the game which should have been Wednesday or Thursday to be fair to Chelsea and the outcome of the relegation battle.
If we do then it better result in Sullivan leaving and if we get the right prices for the players could be a chance to reset and rebuild from the ground up.
