Unsurprisingly, Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has picked up yet another injury, ruling him out of action for two more months. The former Bournemouth forward and close friend of Michail Antonio only recently returned from injury just before West Ham’s November win over the Magpies.
Unfortunately, it seems the injury-prone 32-year-old has sustained another hamstring injury, meaning he won’t return to action until January at the earliest. While this is bad news for both Newcastle and the player, it does mean West Ham can shelve any thoughts of recruiting him as an emergency signing in January.
Wilson had been heavily linked with a loan move to the London Stadium in the upcoming transfer window, which would have pushed the Hammers’ four-man strike force towards a combined age of 130 years. Inspiring stuff.
Although West Ham have a tendency to sign injury-prone players, one would hope Wilson’s misfortune might dissuade the club from completing the transfer. That being said, Niclas Füllkrug and Kurt Zouma both passed medicals this year, so anything seems possible.
West Ham will now have to focus on alternative striker targets.
Would be nice for you lot to maybe just send these comments to your so called sources…don’t think there is one positive comment …its like they want to wind us up ???????
Is this a joke ..was we seriously going to try and buy another old injury prone crap player…am I seeing things…do these clowns 🤡 not learn from there mistakes…WTF
I can’t say how happy I am that we won’t be signing Wilson he’s a has been who spends more time on the treatment table than on the pitch it would have been another very bad signing we need to set the bar much higher than the likes of Wilson but to bring in a quality striker will be difficult while JLo remains in charge why would any decent striker or any other player would want to join us when we have a manager that makes good players look like they are poor amateurs JLo needs to go for the sake of the club otherwise it’s going to be a fight to avoid relegation
If Wilson was our only option we are well and truly done whoever Idea this was to trust another crock needs sacking
We get linked with Wilson. Every single transfer window. And that’s been the case for the last 7 or 8 years . It’s astonishing that Gonzo thinks it’s a story.
32 year old injury prone hasbeen’.right up our strata
Good player and goal scorer but would spend most of season lying in bed next to he’s mate antonio
Bill ****house will be fuming. He spent all summer trying to move Wilson here and now, when he thinks his chance has come, his client goes and gets injured again. Still that’s never stopped us signing someone before.
If Wilson’s cheap enough Sullivan will buy him injury and all . Globally Westham are seen as the suckers to buy any broken , old donkeys especially if Salt house is their agent .
W T F He’s always injured and he’s 32 ??????????????????????????????????????
Do i really have to say anything else.??
We need someone young like Aston-Villa’s ( Duran ) he’s proved his self a proper striker.
Even if they want 60 mill go for him. C O Y I’s
Why would he come to.us? Come to that why would anyone come to us. Working for Lopetegui with the poisoned dwarf pulling the strings won’t inspire anyone half decent to sign for us
If the club were seriously considering Callum Wilson, then someone needs to turn the lights out and lock up.
Shocker!
Callum Wilson, Evan Ferguson and Dominic Calvin Lewis are all strikers we should avoid due to injury records.
