West Ham have been handed a major opportunity to climb the Premier League table tomorrow with victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

The chance has arisen following Nottingham Forest’s 3-0 defeat away to David Moyes’ Everton. In what marked Sean Dyche’s return to Goodison Park as an opposing manager, his Forest side went behind to an own goal after just two minutes and never recovered.

It means that if West Ham win at the Amex Stadium tomorrow, Nuno Espírito Santo’s team will move above Forest and out of the relegation zone.

Another former Hammer, Scott Parker, remains in 19th place with his Burnley side following a plucky 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United. The Clarets were reduced to ten men and trailed 2-0, but a late penalty set up a nervy finish for Eddie Howe’s Toon.

Eyes on Liverpool at Elland Road

In the later kick-off Liverpool travelled to Elland Road to face Leeds United with Mo Salah once again omitted from Arne Slot’s starting line-up. And the reds boss will be kicking himself as his team allowed a 2-0 lead to slip, eventually hanging on to draw the game 3-3 with all goals scored in the second half.

The win lifts a resurgent Leeds team into 26th place on 15 points following a win against Chelsea in midweek. Liverpool once again capitulated making it all the more frustrating that West Ham never contested last weekends fixture at The London Stadium.

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

What Moyes has achieved at Everton in a short space of time is quite incredible. Reminds me of the way he transformed West Ham for the better.

Liverpool threw it away twice against Leeds and that also showed that Liverpool were there for the taking for us too, we missed out on 1 point or 3 against them so we need to up our level to that of Leeds and higher if we want to continue to climb the table. Brighton are better than the Mickey mousers and sitting back will be asking for trouble. Let’s play with intensity and attack from the first minute and surprise Brighton COYI !!!

Perennial relegation battlers Everton now up to 5th with David Moyes, Sullivan’s last contract offer to him is one of his biggest mistakes and there are plenty to chose from

You obviously have a short sighted view on how Moyes was with us.
We had a burnt out squad, poor game management and some massive heavy losses with him. And next to no Youth and poor recruitment.
We had 1.5 season with good results, the rest was poor

Of course in December 2023 when Sullivan offered Moyes that insulting contract we were 6th in the league and looking a good bet to qualify for Europe for a fourth year running. I’m sure you were screaming the squad is too old, but not too many others were complaining. Our aging squad had just beaten Spurs and Arsenal away, but I guess there’s no pleasing some people
