West Ham United fans can breathe a sigh of relief as their pursuit of striker Serhou Guirassy appears to have fortuitously fallen through. Reports from Sky Sport Germany‘s Patrik Berger indicate that Borussia Dortmund’s attempt to sign Guirassy has hit a snag after an undisclosed injury was discovered during his medical.

West Ham were previously interested in acquiring Guirassy, impressed by his prolific 28-goal season in the Bundesliga. The striker’s £15 million release clause seemed too good to be true, raising concerns about potential underlying issues.

With the Premier League season on the horizon, West Ham would have found themselves in a difficult situation if they had signed  a crocked Guirassy . This turn of events allows them to explore other options for their striking position.

West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui can now prioritise alternative targets for his attacking line-up. Reports now suggest Chelsea’s David Datro Fofana is a potential option as reported by CandH yesterday

While missing out on Guirassy might have seemed like a negative development initially, it could be a blessing in disguise for West Ham. They can now target strikers with a cleaner bill of health, potentially leading to a more reliable goalscoring option for the upcoming season.

I read “West Ham Given Lifeline” as meaning we had another opportunity to sign him. Otherwise how does him failing a medical at Dortmund give us a lifeline? Surely he would have failed a medical with us if we had tried to progress the signing. At the very least this article is so badly written we don’t know what the “author” was trying to convey.

    Sigh of relief?
This guy has stated that he wants Champions League football and will choose a club who pays the most.

Even if he was crazy enough to want to come here, and we were even crazier enough to buy him, with what we can’t offer this year, his wage demands are astronomical.
And, as our usual luck with strikers goes, if he’s a ‘failure’ or has another injury then we’re stuck with selling a player who is bleeding us dry and you can guarantee we’d sell him for a pittance just to get him off the wage bill.

Sigh of relief! you have no clue what you’re talking about in every sense of the word.

How does this give us a lifeline?

This post has more contradictions than a Tory MP, are you saying it’s good it’s stalled so we can swoop in and get a crocked player or that it’s good they found out before we bought him as the article actually states both.

  • I'm not the answer to our right back problems says:

Who the hell would want a crooked player like Serhou Guirassy hey, 28 goals in a season carrying whatever undisclosed injury he has………… no way, thanks very much, move along.
Now let’s go out and sign Callum Wilson 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • Ken Edridge says:

Wilson has done nothing else but slagged us off for, why would we want a person like that our club. And I bet the vast majority of supporters would agree.

  • Phil says:

So he’s failed his medical and you think we’re pleased about that? Why would we want to sign yet another crocked player? Do you even think about the junk you’re putting your name to before you cut and paste it?

    • IWantWhatHesSmoking says:

Where does it say we want to sign him, it mentions basically we dodged a bullet thanks to his medical which found an underlying issue. Can I have some of what you are smoking please?

Do you actually read and understand the article before mouthing off.??

  • JOHN says:

tell us another Zaha story Si?

  • Matt says:

It also could mean we will face competition from Dortmund now in our’ search for a striker. After all this guy was linked to us both and strikers are hard to come by.
