With Liverpool spending money like they’ve lost a pound but discovered a Bitcoin portfolio in their trouser pocket, it’s unsurprising to hear West Ham continually linked with their players.
Today it was Mail Online’s turn to discuss all things Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton, and according to their report, we’re still in talks.
Elliott has admitted he might need to leave Anfield given the sheer level of competition, and with Liverpool splashing the cash, they’ll surely be looking to recoup some funds.
At the risk of unleashing a certain level of internet wrath, I’m beginning to wonder if Elliott is perhaps a little overpriced at £40–50 million. Sure, he had an excellent Euros with the Under-21s and the 21-year-old is undeniably talented. However, it seems West Ham are the only club seriously linked with the former Fulham trainee.
Which begs the question—how much would Liverpool really accept for a player who seemingly wants out?
Arne Slot is currently tearing around Europe with John W Henry’s credit card and is now reportedly preparing a stunning £120 million swoop for Alexander Isak. That’s after The Reds pinched Newcastle’s intended Isak replacement, Hugo Ekitike. Surely this means they’re under pressure to balance the books?
As I’ve mentioned before, Mateus Fernandes would be a priority signing and possibly half the price of Elliott. But if Graham Potter’s decided to raid Anfield first, it surely can’t be too difficult to persuade Liverpool to sell.
It makes me laugh on here.
All these comments over the weeks about why haven’t we bought anybody and then we could be offered a young english talented player who can only get better and then you get comments like who is he?he’s only worth 20 million.
I have read it’s £40 mill for Elliot or £56 mill for both Elliot and Morton another good prospect.
Flash the cash and go and get him/them.
Mateus Fernandes Is definitely a Potter type of signing. Young and upwardly mobile with a high ceiling. Only 21 and sure to improve. Exceptional tackler passer crosser of the ball. If he can start adding goals to his game could go right to the top. Really hope we get Elliot. Reminds me of Bowen a bit. Hard grafter. Has the knack of scoring goals.
20 million tops
Is he a midfielder, a winger ??
With Paquetta now being cleared I would love to see him stay but I think after all he has been through he needs a fresh start and hopefully we can get a good price and the buy Elliott and Morton
No excuses if we can do that
I don’t think we need any more past there best players thank you mr Sullivan
Just let potter buy who he wants,so let’s invest in some youth who are both on top of their game,we could also afford Mcatee
Forget Luiz again well over priced and if he does not turn up for training that is totally out of order to the club that pay your wages
I don’t we should be under the illusion that it’s our job in any way, shape or form to help LFC balance their books. Given the way our transfer window business has gone so far (one purchase and 1 “gift” from Sullivan), we can surely find better value elsewhere.
Honestly, i know you shouldnt listen to me because im basing this review on a highligt real i’ve just seen of fernandes, but he honestly looks like a reincarnation of paqueta. Not afraid to hold the ball in his own half with 3 players surrounding him, and fire off a brilliant pass. Always creative, always looking for oppurtities, instead of passing backwards (ward prowse). I feel he would fit in perfectly. Especially at CM with another creative person (like elliot) beside him, and an anchor behind (alvarez). I feel like thats what potter is trying to build, and i like it!
I completely agree mate
Defo overpriced at £40m+.
He still has a lot to prove for me. Loan is the way to go if we can get one.
Liverpool fans don’t rate him and would prefer to keep Tyler morton .before the euros you wouldn’t have got 20 million for him.
