West Ham are continuing to support Michail Antonio’s recovery despite his contract officially expiring on Monday.
The club have granted the 34-year-old full access to the Rush Green gym and training facilities as he works on regaining full fitness following injury.
While Antonio is now a free agent and weighing up offers from other clubs, the Hammers have opted to help the long-serving striker maintain his match sharpness.
The Jamaican international is determined to stay in top condition as he explores his next move. Whether West Ham go on and offer Mikey a deal is too early to say but it’s nice to see such a good releationship between player and club after nearly a decade of service.
On a much sadder note, I couldn’t really write anything today without mentioning the tragic death of Liverpool striker Diego Jota. The 28 year old was involved in a car accident in Spain yesterday and died as a result of his injuries.
Jota only married two weeks ago and the news is incredibly sad for family, friends and of course Liverpool fans who will have been shocked to wake up to the horrible news this morning.
Jota was an excellent footballer who has lost his life far too young in such tragic circumstances. Of course heartfelt condolences go out to his loved ones.
No way should we offer any sort of contract to Antonio been milking wages for 3 years… and rip jota sadly missed by all football fans
Agree with Martin61 re Antonio……
All been said regarding Diogo – absolutely shocking news and he had three kids…..🥲
Terribly sad about Jota, as a player I always felt he would create moments to score against us, he was one of the cleverest forwards in pl history at finding space. RIP Diogo condolences to your wife, family and friends.
Well said, Gonzo. The sad news has reached the news outlets here in Australia too. There are, of course, many Liverpool fans over here too. RIP Diogo Jota.
It’s absolutely shocking mate. The more I read about his wife, kids and brother the sadder it is.
28 years old and with so much life ahead of him. So, so sad.
Diego Jota – RIP. Condolences from Taffyhammer to add to those of Gonzo.
RIP Diogo, and his brother, Andre. Devastating news for their family.
This is the level of support I think the club should give Antonio. No more, no less, no contract!
Well said re Jota. Terribly sad for his parents, wife and 3x children. Unimaginable.
