West Ham have just stepped into the 21st Century

What a time to be a supporter of West Ham United. Over recent years we have celebrated the fact that as spoilers we could beat any team on our day, which is a negative way to view this club, but that is what we had become since the cup runs had dried up.

We are now slowly but surely becoming the club that we should’ve been a long time ago and it is all down to the vision of one man, David Moyes. There is no doubt that by the time he leaves this club, he will be a legend and his name will go down in history not simply as a manager, but someone who created a legacy by shaping the future of the club.

I did not see such a lightning transformation happening when Moyes took over the second time around, but he did grab my attention with his mission statement regarding what needed to happen at this club and the direction that he aimed to take us in. He has been as good as his word on ALL of the promises that he has made so far, it’s just that I didn’t expect them to happen so soon.

The recent addition of Rob Newman to the club is no small appointment either and he will have a massive impact on this club which is already heading in the right direction. West Ham have just stepped into the 21st Century and none of us can wait.

Anyway, to win away at Everton, in the fashion that we did shows the mindset of this club has significantly changed as we are now a professionally run club ever looking forwards to the next game.

I have praised him before and I’m sure that I will praise him in the future, but Ben Johnson has a MASSIVE future ahead of him. right-back, Left-back, and wing-back.

We need to tie him down to a long term contract linked with incentives before the big boys start to take notice. Ben is one amazingly talented footballer who by the end of this season will no longer be under the radar.

The New West Ham way???……. You Bet! COYI

Johnson was poor first half. Needs to work on his crossing and long passing but he worked hard and second half he got better. Perhaps some of his early play was down to nerves. Not bad with his short link up play and defence.
