West Ham have revealed good Mohammed Kudus news.

The club fully him to be left out of the Ghana squad which tonight meets Cape Verdi in their opening Afcon match.

We wrote yesterday that the club would be keeping the fingers crossed that would be the case but the Hammers have made it clear they are very confident of the situation.

It means of course that even of the tournament was not being held the player wouldn’t have been involved against Bristol City on Tuesday evening.

Mo has been receiving treatment for his injury at home in Accra and the Hammers have told Claret and Hugh that there is hopefully little chance of him playing against Cape Verdi.

A source explained to us: “The plan was not to play tonight, as they expect to win easily. The plan was he’d return for Egypt to give the hamstring more time to recover.”

It is obviously not in Ghana’s interests to risk such an important player but is equally good news for the Irons who are desperate for him to be fully fit before being involved in anymore games.

Therefore, it seems certain that his first appearance in his international colours will come on Thursday evening against Egypt who are certain to include Mo Salah in their team.
