West Ham have ‘sent representatives’ | But no Jet – yet

West Ham watchers will well remember the sight of Tim Steidten jetting off on missions to sign talented players – Alvarez and Todibo to name but two – and return with them in triumph ahead of London Stadium signings. Never one to miss a photo opportunity, Tim was often pictured with the players in question.

That was last year. Much has changed in the ensuing 12 months. West Ham have a new recruitment team but, according to further news from South America today are still doing their utmost to bring in talented players from the other side of the Atlantic.

“West Ham travel to negotiate for signing – Official admits sale possible “(sportwitness.co.uk) runs the article detailing the Hammers’ progress in the pursuit of centre-back Kevin Lomónaco– him of the €17.5 million release clause:

“West Ham have ‘great interest’ in the 23-year-old and have sent representatives to Buenos Aires…The Hammers have already held talks with the centre-back’s entourage about the contract and now ‘move forward’ with his club”.

One player pursuit which, as the reports gather in frequency, does seem to have substance. It would also tie in with the Hammers’ planned sale of Nayef Aguerd which would presumably provide the funds.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Has been linked with a betting scandal. Of course we’re after him.

  • Mick bering says:

Player has stated he knows nothing of this So looks like another W Ham made up story coming out the club

    • Stevie mac says:

If he’s not a freebie he won’t be coming to the club.
And like Mick said if the player knows nothing that tells its own story ots all Lies

  • JH says:

Tim Steidten was a huge possibility squandered. He didn’t get everything right, as he himself admitted, but he brought in a lot of quality and was never given the chance to build on a project that, I have little doubt, would have enhanced the status of the club.

I wish I had been given the opportunity TS was squandering. I, too, would have had a project but it would have been financially realistic rather than fantasy figures based.

“23”! Far too young for us ! Suppose we could buy him and loan him out for 6 or 7 years , is he unstoppable, unplayable, a world beater etc etc etc, anyone with half a brain won’t be coming to us , unless they use us a stepping stone.
60 years supporting and I have never felt so uninspired, owners who are just self serving jokers, average manager and we dont even own are own ground .
    What a circus ( and that’s doing a circus a disservice.

It’s called window shopping I do it a lot wow love that car that watch but no money but never mind it’s the thought that counts that’s Sullivans philosophy

More chance of sending a paper aeroplane

Strange how we scapegoated Tim for Sullivan’s lack of insight but we still keep targeting players that were identified by Tim.

I’d rather have a successful charismatic negotiator like Tim who got players in and more importantly found new homes for our deadwood than Sullivan & Brady!

Our odds on relegation look a good bet to me.

    • Bill Ryan says:

Anyone could see Sullivan in his coniving snydey ways engineered Tim’s removal Moyes had him tied to a watertight contract over transfers and would have cost a fortune to sack but Tim’s wasn’t at the speed at which Sullivan let it be known he was taking back control was astonishing snake 🐍

Remember a certain Craig Dawson absolutely brilliant for us £3m! I’ve always liked Nat Phillips of Liverpool, very underestimated and reputedly available for £4m! Definitely better than Mazropanous so please have a whip round and get him in a C&B shirt. Defender’s like fine wine mature with age, it’s no brainer you won’t get any better value for money, it’s a steal. Solid season at Derby and he’s PL level.

I don’t know if they would even consider these players in the current setup – honest question. They bring a lot to a team, unique, just like James Collins.

Funny how west ham are always looking but never quite buying.
