West Ham have signed Fabianski to another year

West Ham have signed Lukasz Fabianski to another year’s contract!

That really should come as no surprise after a series of fine games in the absence of Alphonse Areola and his previous record at the club which has been outstanding since his arrival from Swansea five years and over 170 appearances ago for £7 million, Despite the Pole reaching 39 years of age in April the Hammers rate him very highly indeed and the club confirmed to Claret and Hugh exclusively this morning the deal has now been done writes HUGHIE SOUTHON.

It was only this season that he was relegated to No 2 behind Areola and beyond a bleat about the way it was done in the early stages Fab has been as professional as ever, accepting the decision properly and professionally.

Areola has been excellent since being promoted to the No 1 job but Fab has regularly shown the club are now very swell, served with two keepers who are more than capable of doing a job at European and Premier League level and there are few out there who could do a better job whilst costing silly transfer fees.

Our key Hammers source explained exclusively to us: “Yes, we have given Fab another year and it is well deserved. He is still an absolutely top keeper.”
