West Ham have hired a former BBC multimedia sports news editor Paul Cox as their new head of corporate communications.
Cox was head of communications at UK Sport for the five last years, the agency that funds sport across the UK for Olympics and Paralympics. Before that he spent nearly 13 years with the BBC as a Multi media Sports news editor.
Cox will work alongside the club’s current head of media relations, Max Fitzgerald who joined from Bournemouth FC handling corporate communications . Both will report to Tara Warren, executive director of marketing and communications.
West Ham has repeatedly found itself under the media spotlight for all the wrong reasons recently after the move to the London Stadium and Cox will be tasked with improving that image while Fitzgerald concentrates on football matters with regards to the press.
