Further fall-out from relegation continues to cascade around the shoulders of West Ham’s beleaguered board of directors. On the pitch stories abound of players planning on leaving – whilst the media speak of plots from Premier League sides to ‘steal’ the Hammers’ top talent.
In any case, many will be earmarked for sale already, with that enormous debt looming large.
And amidst it all the Hammers have to plan for their campaign in the toughest, most ruthless league in English football. Getting out of the Championship has to be their sole priority come August and building a team from the remnants of last season’s squad just got a whole lot harder.
West Ham board hit by pivotal resignation
Reported by In-the-know-club insider ExWHUemployee today, the club has been hit by a resignation of their head of recruitment and analysis:
“West Ham’s Maximilian Hahn has resigned from his position as head coach [head of recruiting, surely? MT] deciding he will be leaving the club,”
Only adding to the summer of chaos likely in store at London Stadium.

Planned or not, whether influenced by the news of Nuno’s remaining along with the undoubted growing influence of his ‘pet’ super agent Jorge Mendes, the news of the departure of Hahn will be a blow to West Ham’s team-building ambitions ahead of the opening of the June 15th transfer window.

“The club are also expected to announce a new technical director to oversee the role in the coming week or so…… there will be a number of backroom changes at the club, as the club attempt to get promoted at the first time of asking this season.”
Here’s my perspective on MH departing, when Huillios exited he took all data with him. Moyes came in and started from scratch, appointing his son, plus Newman and some overseas scout. Stietden gets the gig, mainly due to previous failings, but the turnover of those players exiting is enormous, plenty of inbound came but still a deficit on numbers, crucially big savings on salary outlay.
We didn’t replace like for like quality and character.
Signed several young cheaper players, who may come good. Kante, Cummings, Magassa, LaMadrid etc.

Perhaps he has the know how to extract all of MH data driven info, before he departs too. Something very off about the timing of this whole debacle.
Not to mention the ticking time bomb in the background surrounding the past dealings of certain stakeholder that shall remain nameless.

We need to see what the new recruitment team looks like before we get too het up…….but given our past history on not having a stable, consistent recruitment team it doesn’t feel good.
Did he resign or did he, as reported elsewhere, come to the end of his contract. Talk is some clubs in Germany are talking to him plus Southampton and another Championship club. Perhaps we think we can do better?
The comments about Sullivan are totally justified and, as usual, the fans are not wrong. That said, there are two primary shareholders and the other one is every bit as useless, albeit in different ways. Kretinsky is invisible, sits in the background and says and does nothing. He may be a shareholder but he certainly is not a fan. Now both are suffering from their own failure to lead and as a fan it is really hard to see anything changing at West Ham anytime soon. Right now, just marking time in the Championship and avoiding further relegation would be an achievement.

Exactly. Logic is also in short supply. We’ve wasted money on bad players who weren’t a fit. We’ve overpaid for players we cannot move on. But the guy who is Head of Recruiting and therefore played some part in identity the ‘talent’ we are stuck with is moving on and it’s a ‘crisis’?

Sometimes there’s too many cooks. The combination of Nuno and Mendes has worked well in the past, may as well give that a try! Any other attempt at long term planning has failed miserably!
I agree with Clifford let the dust settle.just because Maxw who has resigned doesn’t mean anything, let get on with it .
The chaotic manner in which our club is run makes promotion highly unlikely and very much a struggle to even make the play offs next season….we just seem to be going round and round in circles with nothing ever changing to take us forward and whilst we do this do those in power at the club think that those other sides with promotion ambitions are sitting around twiddling their thumbs.

Maybe he applied for the DoF role, didn’t get it and doesn’t like being ‘passed over’ or isn’t part of future plans. If so we can expect the DoF announcement very soon. Then again I can’t believe we actually get someone in post in time for the window. That’s not the Sully way.
Well this looks suspiciously like Sulivan wanting his own way all the time and Hahn picking players he doesn’t like. We will never be a great club with Sulivan in charge.
More of the same in the Championship, they (Board) are an insult to incompetance.
