A source close to West Ham has told ClaretandHugh today that the official launch of West Ham’s new home kit is scheduled for Saturday 16th July.
Pictures of the new 2016/2017 home kit have already been widely circulated on the internet after one main Umbro sports retailer in Thailand started selling the shirt several weeks ago.
The scheduled date will follow just twenty-four hours after the Europa League third round qualifying stage draw in Nyon. Those Europa legs will be played on Thursday July 28th and Thursday 4th August and are likely to be the first games where the new home kit will be worn by the West Ham first team.
Retaining the club’s traditional style with claret body and blue sleeves, the new West Ham kit features the new club crest with the words “Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 2016-2017”.
The collar of the West Ham 16-17 home kit is white at the front and blue around the sides and back, while the inside of the shirt shows a stylized Union Jack with the coordinates of the club’s new stadium written below it. The Union Jack is also present inside the sleeve cuffs.
The club have announced the new home shirt will be available to pre-order from Tuesday 5th July.
I can back this up. I was in the new shop yesterday and overheard one of the assistants say the home shirt would be launched in two weeks which would be 16 July
