West Ham insider ExWHUEmployee has today revealed that the club are turning their attention to the domestic market in an effort to strengthen their striking options this January.
Ex, who was spot on when predicting the Hammers’ summer signing of El Hadji Malick Diouf, now claims that the club are eyeing up Championship hotshot Haji Wright.
The American forward has been in red-hot form for Frank Lampard’s Coventry City, scoring eight goals already this season and helping fire the Sky Blues into the promotion race.
Hammers Face Tough Negotiations
Prising Wright away from a title-chasing side won’t be easy, especially given his importance to Coventry’s campaign. But with Niclas Füllkrug pushing for a January exit, it’s no surprise that West Ham are exploring all possible options.
A top Claret & Hugh source revealed last week that the club’s best hope may be to land a striker on loan, with the Brazilian market seen as a possible fall-back — albeit a “risky” one. We were informed that manager Nuno Espirito Santo is ‘desperate’ to sign a striker as his priority.
With the January window fast approaching and Füllkrug’s situation unresolved, we should expect plenty more transfer gossip in the coming weeks as West Ham scramble to find the firepower we’ve been missing.
I think we should speak to Chelsea about Liam Delap, unless he is injured he doesn’t seem to be able to get a game for them. 6 month loan might suit both clubs
The way i’m reading it it does really look like we’re getting desperate when it comes to a striker front. we should of gone 4 Ivan Toney when he first come available. personally i don’t think we should panic, we still have time 2 get the right striker in. C O Y I ‘s
Cheers Paul.
