West Ham United’s talismanic attacking force that is Crysencio Summerville picked up an injury last night in the closing stages of extra time: West Ham may have knocked out Brentford with five perfect penalties but the sight of Summerville prone on the turf with the medics hunched over him brought 50,000-plus West Ham fans to worried silence.

The Premier League campaign hits its vital run-in and the Hammers need their top scorer fit and firing if they are to carry forward all their hard won points and complete the ‘Great Escape 2.0″.

So our first priority this morning was to reach out to our source for an update on Summerville’s injury – “Hope Summerville is ok, he was limping badly and carried on after his injury”

And the response we received back did little to calm fans or team mates:

“Scans today, huge worry”

Nuno and fans alike will be sweating on the outcome and on Summerville’s fitness. With Pablo just rejoining the first team after a five game layoff the last thing the Hammers need now is the irreplaceable Flying Dutchman missing in West Ham’s crucial up and coming Premier League fixtures.

As they say, more when we have it!

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Not sure why he came on when he did, I thought Traore was playing well.

  • Jack E4 says:

I don’t fully understand why Nuno subbed Traore at half time in a match that could potentially go to extra time. He was playing Well, had won a pen and was tracking back too. If he want injured, I think he deserved at least an hour.

  • Richard F says:

I know we had used all our subs up but surely keeping Summerville on when he was clearly injured was a mistake.
I know everybody has there priorities but for me staying in the Premier league is more important

  • Willsy says:

Yes it is a worry but the way Traore played yesterday should ease those worries a bit. I thought he had a really good game and tracked back very well with his speed. Best game yet for us.

    Opportunity for Lamadrid?

  • Darkhorse says:

It was always gamble, let’s just hope it’s not that serious
