West Ham have informed agents and clubs that a £50m offer will not be enough to sign Mohammed Kudus.

It’s relatively common knowledge now that the Hammers are operating a sell-before-you-buy policy this summer—and that public stance may have encouraged potential buyers to submit lowball offers for the Ghanaian winger.

However, Claret & Hugh understand that while the club knows nobody will activate Kudus’ £85m Premier League release clause, any suggestion they might accept £50m has been met with a firm “no chance.”

We spoke to a prominent agent earlier today, who told us: “Liverpool were interested and would have paid the asking price, but once Mo Salah signed a new deal, the move was dead.”

They continued: “But West Ham won’t sell for £50m—they paid nearly £40m and still owe Ajax money.”

It’s just the latest in a growing list of stories pointing to a delayed start to West Ham’s transfer business, as the club waits for significant player sales to kick off our summer rebuild.

Arsenal have reportedly sounded out the Hammers with a ‘take it or leave it’ offer which has been rejected. The Gunners are not expected to return with a second bid at this point.

So we have to sell before we can buy….well the clubs interested can wait and wait and wait because the longer it goes Sullivan will have made a rod for his own back and will start to sweat when no business being done by the club…he is going to see his bluff called and we will be up to our neck in it with little or no time to get the players in we need…..Relegation is nailed on next season…hope the clown enjoys his cash cow turning into a money pit.

The price is £85m. Pay it or leave it. About time we stood our ground.

65m to 70m max, perhaps if he had played with some purpose and determination instead of sulking when being asked to play down the left then maybe £85m would have been achievable but he probably deserves to play for a Champion League side next season and good luck to him because he was brilliant at time’s, up there with De Canio, almost!
