West Ham are keeping a close eye on towering Swiss defender Aurèle Amenda, but securing a transfer deal for the centre-back may prove tricky.

That’s according to Irons ITK ExWHUEmployee, who has provided the latest behind-the-scenes update from the London Stadium.

Ex reports that the Hammers are admirers of the 6ft 5in Eintracht Frankfurt star, who only recently joined the Bundesliga side from Young Boys, where he progressed through the academy.

Amenda joined Frankfurt on 1 July 2024, having agreed the move following a stellar campaign in Switzerland, where he made 45 appearances and helped Young Boys win both the Swiss Super League and Swiss Cup.

The 20-year-old centre-half made his senior debut at just 18 and has already featured for Switzerland in the Nations League, having risen swiftly through the youth ranks.

However, with Frankfurt having only just secured his services, West Ham would likely need to submit a substantial offer to convince the German club to part with the highly rated defender.

If Ex’s sources are correct again, Amenda is  the latest name on a growing list of young targets being tracked by West Ham as Head of Recruitment Kyle Macaulay begins the long process of lowering the average age of what is currently the Premier League’s oldest squad.

We are all upset with this season from day one I knew it was going to be bad , from the time we assigned lopitigue because I saw what he did at wolves and how we ran around them when we played them. The whole problem is that West Ham has not had a long term coach and correct me if I am wrong but moyes was the longest, and I really don’t understand why we fired him , we should have kept him we would be at least top 8 if not 7 , I believe it’s the fault of the west ham fans that we have reached to this level , always criticizing, nothing satisfies them, I have been supporting the club since 1975 and have been since then. But the fans I really don’t know what they want. They want the team to play the West Ham way … please does anyone can tell me what is that way ??? Moyes made West Ham be feared in Europe, plus we con the conference cup which is fine, I really want to understand , do you think we can ever win the premier league ??? I will tell you the answer NEVER , not while Sullivan is running the show. Honestly you should give Potter a chance to build this team in the summer instead of bloody criticizing him and killing the teams morale , the fans don’t realize we had fornals and Benrahma alongside paqueta , we had a strong midfield and a strong defence. So please let’s stick behind potter and let’s see what he will create. And if I was potter I will concentrate in going to Europe through winning the FA CUP and be in top 10 next year

Silly season. I can’t believe we’ll Payton dollar for the next w9nderkid after he’s discovered. We want the next one that’s not yet been snapped up….

As someone has already commented ” not another wonderkid “, if he has any sense , he won’t come anywhere near this circus. This feels like another forlorn way of keeping people interested in this sh– show of a club , a club on the decline, a club with no ground , self serving owners , at best an average manager ( most of the time clueless) if he was that good he wouldn’t be managing us 🤔. 60 years of supporting this club and I have never felt so uninspired . The Dwarf has spent his lif manipulating people and that isn’t going to change soon is it ? Still, onward and downward…

I know of a wonderkid we could try and bring to London Stadium. He’s an upcoming footballer by the name of Lamine Yamal and plays for some little club in Spain. Sullivan could probably get him on the cheap with the lure of living in London and playing in the Premier League. 🙄

Gonzo there is always a problem with our transfer whether its money other clubs coming in for them its getting on my nerves .

  • Jeeps says:

We’ll end up with a team of chicks and granddad’s.
Potter’s already confused, does he now how to handle wonder kids (Guilherme)?
There’ll be so much back and forward on sub bench needs to put a regular team together so they gel.

Everyone seems hooked on the ‘impossible rebuild’ that is supposed to occur even though we have no cash & we cannot attract the best youngsters nor players such as Davids, Angel, etc. Guess the tone will change come Sept.
Wish Potter had used this whole series of dead rubbers to use the youngsters + only the experienced players he is keeping for the 25/26 squad.
IF the approach really is to sell all our best players as if at a market stall, simply because they are sellable, then I wonder who WHU will be left with? Completely moronic.
Everyone has their own idea who we should keep but definitely Guilherme. When a good player comes on, given the standard of play at WHU, he really stands out in the crowd and Guilherme certainly does.

Just how many ‘Wonderkids’ are there?

  • Essexiron67 says:

I hope we don’t sell our Brazilian wonder kid , we’ve had glimpses of what he’s capable of,I get fed up with being linked with another wonder kid let’s work what we already have. Next season we’ve got earthy ,Potts scarles the lad from Scotland and the French lad we brought last year plus and Andy Irvine .
