Breaking reports today indicate that West Ham are in a transfer race with Brentford for one of the Championship’s brightest young stars.

Sydie Peck, who came through Arsenal’s academy before joining Sheffield United, has emerged as a target after an impressive campaign with the Blades.

The central midfielder is valued at around £12 million by the Yorkshire club and enjoyed an excellent season, scoring five goals and creating three more as he established himself as one of Sheffield United’s most important players.

West Ham Scouts Have Been Watching

The Athletic today named Peck as one of two EFL players currently being tracked by West Ham.

According to the report, Hammers scouts have watched the midfielder closely throughout the season as the club look to identify young talent capable of making the step up.

At 21 years of age, Peck would certainly fit the profile of the type of player West Ham need to target as part of our rebuild.

One Of The Championship’s Brightest Prospects

Peck is a regular in Lee Carsley’s England Under-21 squad and has represented England throughout the youth age groups.

He also remains eligible to represent Wales internationally.

His performances last season earned him a place on the shortlist for the Championship Young Player of the Season award, underlining just how highly regarded he has become.

With Brentford also reportedly interested, West Ham could face strong competition if we decide to pursue the midfielder further this summer.

I’m sorry but this is just more smoke and mirrors. We have £150 million to find from player sales to be SCR compliant and to have any clue of what money we might have for incomings, if any, so this is just bs.

Singing from same hymn sheet (spread sheet) as Brentford can’t be bad.
Unfortunately chances of getting him 10% whu/90% Brentford.
He’ll be in their training ground whilst west ham are still thinking about it.

We can’t buy anyone as is, we have no money and £150 million to find first from player sales.
