West Ham United have reportedly joined the race to sign highly-rated central defender Oumar Solet from RB Leipzig, according to Foot Mercato.

The 24-year-old Frenchman is expected to depart the Austrian Bundesliga this summer, seeking a new challenge elsewhere in Europe. Solet was previously linked with moves to Napoli and Lens in January but a transfer did not materialise.

West Ham face competition for Solet’s signature, with Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg, and Roma also expressing interest. This strong interest suggests Solet will have several options to choose from when deciding on his next club.

Solet, a former French youth international, emerged from the Lyon academy. Despite his affiliation with Lyon, he never played a first-team game for the club, opting to move to RB Leipzig in 2022.

West Ham are reportedly keen on bolstering their central defence, and Solet’s profile fits the bill. At 24, he offers a blend of youth and potential, while his experience in a competitive league like Austria could be valuable.

With several clubs interested, West Ham face a challenge in securing Solet’s signature. The coming weeks will reveal whether the Hammers can convince the defender that their project is the best fit for his future.

Oh dear more speculation and we can’t even get the club he plays for correct, poor old Tim will be ineipzig instead of salzburg so this will be another non starter.

If Tim is going to be in Salzberg, maybe he can sign up a couple of those prancing horses to replace the donkies in the current squad.

He plays for RB Salzburg not RB Leipzig
