West Ham United have entered the fray for Rangers youngster Archie Stevens, according to a report from FootballTransfers. The 18-year-old winger is quickly becoming a hot property, with several Premier League clubs vying for his signature.

Stevens, who is about to enter the final year of his contract at Rangers, has attracted interest from Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Leeds United. Manchester United were also previously linked to the player. Despite making only one senior appearance for Rangers at the tender age of 16, Stevens has impressed with his performances for the club’s B team. He has also represented England at the youth level, including a stint with the U17 World Cup squad.

The Hammers will need to drastically reduce the average age of their squad, and Stevens will certainly help in that regard. Angelo Ogbonna has departed, which should help lower the age profile of the club, although the signing of Wes Foderingham is also a step in the wrong direction. West Ham’s recent success with young players like George Earthy (20), Kaelan Casey (19), and Lewis Orford (18) could be a factor in attracting Stevens. The presence of a similar development pathway at the London Stadium might be appealing to the young talent.

The Hammers’ recent acquisition of young Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras highlights their willingness to invest in promising players with long-term potential. This strategic approach signals West Ham’s commitment to building a team that can compete at the highest level for years to come.

Manchester United’s historical allure could be a significant obstacle for West Ham. Additionally, the interest from multiple clubs suggests a potential bidding war, making swift action crucial for the Hammers. Securing Stevens’ signature would be a coup for West Ham. He represents an exciting young talent with the potential to develop into a key first-team player. His arrival would further solidify West Ham’s commitment to promoting young players within the squad.

West Ham faces stiff competition for Stevens, but they might have an advantage by offering a more realistic path to first-team football compared to Manchester United. The Hammers’ focus on integrating young players into the senior team could be a decisive factor in Stevens’ decision. By choosing West Ham, Stevens would join a club where his development is a priority, potentially fast-tracking his progress to regular Premier League football.

In conclusion, West Ham United’s pursuit of Archie Stevens is a testament to their ongoing commitment to youth development. Adding a talent like Stevens would not only rejuvenate the squad but also align with Julen Lopetegui’s vision of a dynamic and competitive team. As the transfer window heats up, West Ham fans will be eagerly watching to see if the club can secure this promising young winger.

If we are definitely trying to buy these young players who to be honest have no experience in the premiership it may be a case of a struggle for the season coming. In my opinion I would prefer to sign some established players. At this present time it seems like nothing has changed for me we are in for all these players yet only signed a young Brazilian unproven player
