West Ham United finds itself in a battle for the signature of promising defensive midfielder Mandela Keita, according to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad.
The 21-year-old Belgian is currently on loan at Royal Antwerp from OH Leuven, where he has been a standout performer this season. His impressive displays have attracted scouts from across Europe, including the Premier League.
West Ham faces competition from fellow Premier League rival Manchester United and Championship side Leeds United, all of whom are monitoring Keita’s progress.
It remains to be seen if West Ham will make a formal offer for Keita in the coming months. However, his recent performances and potential suggest he could be a valuable addition to Julen Lopetegui’s, squad, especially considering the Hammers’ need for reinforcements in central midfield.
Adding to Keita’s appeal is his international recognition. Despite his young age, he has already earned a senior cap for the Belgian national team.
According to transfermarkt, he is valued at £8m, so perhaps he is worth a punt?
Do you have a crystal ball? The last I knew was Leeds are in the Championship. They may well be in the Prem next season
It does say championship side Leeds United no crystal ball needed.
