West Ham Just Became More Appealing | Bonus For Lopetegui’s Successor

One late goal for West Ham seems almost inconsequential on a dreadful night at Leicester when West Ham were undone by a counter-attacking side spearheaded by a 37 year old who scored in the second minute. However there could be big ramifications bearing in mind the thirty-something failed Hammers’ goal attempts which followed.

The introduction of Niclas Fullkrug on another night would have inspired columns of writing – after the German’s three month layoff just to see him open the bench would have been noteworthy had it not been overshadowed by Leicester sticking three past a hapless defence.

The very fact that Fullkrug popped up to score in his ten minute cameo, in the right place at the right time should be a cause of muted – very muted- relief for Hammers fans. Whatever happens at the club in the next few days – for we know David Sullivan does not act swiftly even when it has been plain for anyone to see since the 0-0 draw against Everton that this exact scenario was inevitable -the awakening of Fullkrug is an important punctuation mark at the end of Lopetegui’s sorry Hammers history.

Whoever takes over will do so knowing that if Fullkrug stays fit and ‘focussed’ then the first goal is done and dusted, and possibly many more might be on the way.

Small cause for celebration right now but a modest yet important marker put down for the next head coach: At least somebody could finally manage to put the ball in the net last night.

How important Fullkrug’s contribution might be is difficult to guess: He’s talking the talk too:”I will try my best to help in the dressing room, to help on the pitch, to get a little bit of hierarchy in this team, and to work with these guys, because from the characters, our team is so nice, so good. I love the guys, and I’m here just for four months now, and I feel very comfortable. I like to be here and we have so many qualities, so many good characters, but we have to bring it on the pitch.”

And he’s just made the head coach job at London Stadium a little more attractive too since whoever comes next has more goal scoring options to work with in the short term: And with zero in the kitty for January, that could well be crucial in attracting a decent Lopetegui replacement.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

    Just sack j-lo now

  • Len Scannell says:

Yes that interview with Fullkrug makes a nonsense of the media stories that he wants out of WHU. And reading between the lines he pinpoints that the team is good enough but hints that there are organisational problems. That’s down to the manager.
It’s funny too that there was so much criticism of Steidten appointing a 31 year old striker but all of a sudden he is looking like just what we need…

    • Dave says:

Steidten is the only one in the Leadership team that has a chance of rescuing our season!

Sullivan hates losing power on transfers to Tim. It’s obvious the “homesick” / “Tim failed in the summer” stories from top sources are loaded to fool the fans in to making scapegoating Tim more palatable.

Füllkrug scoring last night shot a massive hole in the propaganda machine. Hope he continues to make it awkward for the knife wielding hatchet top sources!

    • Matt says:

No coincidence that C&H “top sources” have all gone quiet all of a sudden 🤫

“Be careful who you write for”

    • E15Hammer says:

We are good enough if we had a coach that demonstrated true motivational skills, savvy tactics and set the players up right positions and formation.

Sullivan chose this 🤡 and the 🤡 is equally as responsible as the chairman for this shambles!

  • AndyB says:

HammersNews continue the anti Tim propaganda saying he could lose his job.

Sullivan deliberately picked a coach that wasn’t on Tim’s list, uses the smokescreen that Tim is wholly responsible for transfers and won’t even admit his failings as a Chairman.

    Spineless, egotistical, narcissistic scum!

“We know what you are, we know what you are, David Sullivan…. We know what you are!”

    • Matt says:

Top sources are just agents of Sullivan that spread disinformation to detract from the glaring culprit of our demise!

  • John Ayris says:

83% in the poll are saying sack him now…

9% Review him at the end of December…

8% Give him to the end of the season.

    • Matt says:

The 8% is Sullivan, Brady, top sources and Spurs fans!

    • Dave says:

When does Sullivan ever consider anyone’s opinion other than his and Brady’s, who just says yes Dave you’re amazing anyway.

Chairman and Vice Chairman are a disgrace!

    • John simmonds says:

A forking midget porno King barrow boy narcissistic midget and a rank and file up her own jacksie tory dame in charge of what once was a working class football club that has sold out its fan base. What could possibly have gone wrong???

      • AndyB says:

When will ever be right again??!

Club owned by fools and coached by a fool and taking the fans for fools!

The “top sources” are right up there with Sullivan in trying to mug us off!

  • Hammer Trev says:

To clearly see Bowen muttering ‘F**king terrible’ after one of our attacks broke down says a lot for me. He’s the captain and should getting hold of the team by the scruff of the neck.

  • Alan says:

He isn’t getting sacked yet. Maybe he will if we lose at Wolves.

I had read somewhere that it might be CHEAPER to sack him in January if we are beneath a certain position in the table at that point. If that’s true, expect Sullivan to hold out till then at least.

    • AndyB says:

When we lose against Wolves 🐺

We needed a new coach during the International break. That was a massive error in Leadership from Sullivan.

Wasting time now when a new coach can have time to evaluate players ahead of the transfer window would be yet ANOTHER epic failure by Sullivan.

Sack the coach and the board! 😡😡😡

      • Johansson says:

I sang ‘sack the board’ loud at the Arse game, everyone just stared as if “What is his problem”

  • John Ayris says:

He should have been sacked after Everton when there was a two week break. Now we’re into relentless games that we are not going to win when were conceding so freely.

Basic through balls put attackers through on one on ones with Fabianski, we need putting into a coherent shape is not advanced coaching but is not happening.

Put Noble in charge along with the academy coaching team in the interim while a new head coach is appointed. We’re in trouble if we allow it to carry on as is, the first imperative is that he is sacked.

  • Matt says:

At least Füllkrug muted your top source 🤫

Scored with his first opportunity and from what he said the homesick stories are the same as JLo, total and utter garbage.
