West Ham United has unveiled their new 2024/25 Umbro away kit, dubbed ‘The Cockney Kit’.
For the launch, various members of the West Ham squads were photographed on a London rooftop, showcasing the black shirt designed with a claret trim. The kit first caught fans attention last month through leaked images that revealed a black shirt with a pink trim. Although it’s decent enough, it may struggle in surpassing the popularity of last year’s away kit, which many regarded as one of the best in recent years.
The new kit supposedly draws inspiration from the Hammers’ East End heritage. It features a black base with a graphic that includes the iconic St Mary-le-Bow church, an integral part of East London’s identity, woven directly into the fabric.
Unfortunately the new design is spoilt by the green logo of sleeve sponsor Quickbooks which is rather unsightly and clashes with the colours on both the home and away kits.
The club do produce a sponsor less version of the kit but unfortunately only the Betway logo is removed and the big green blob remains . . . Pointless really.
I like the new away shirt, and the new home shirt might buy both.
Frankly, I’ve never liked our black or navy change kits…..but hey, for once I absolutely love the new home offering. I’d hoped that our away shirt might be a copy of the 1964-65 sky blue with two claret bands (Umbro wouldn’t have made a mess off it this time, surely?)
Gonzo, I agree with you about the green sleeve logo.
Struggling to see any blue in this design and the claret looks too red, plus a green blob on sleeve. No Thank You.
I agree, a near perfect home kit totally spoiled by the green logo.
