From the variety of strikers linked with West Ham already, with the season still unfinished, this is likely to be another “summer of the thousand transfer rumours”. With the Hammers desperately in need of a new number nine – the stories are already coming thick and fast.

One can only hope that the Hammers get on and get their ‘selling’ done early in the first summer window, allowed by FIFA ahead of the Club World Cup championships. Oddly, therefore, the summer window opens for two weeks come 1st June before closing for the tournament and then and opening again.

However much West Ham were linked with – deep breath –  Tammy Abraham in previous windows – and however much I’d like to wish this was another ‘made up’ report, Givemesport.com have now doubled down on their article last week and once again linked Roma’s Abraham with a move back to the Premier League.

In their article today headed” West Ham ‘Come Forward’ to Sign £93,000 a week Striker”, they report that “Abraham is thought to happily return to the Premier League after a four-year absence, even though he would want a move to a ‘top-tier’ club – and although West Ham have had a poor season all things considered, Abraham would still ponder a move to the London Stadium.”

Whether I hesitate to write it because so many ‘Abraham’ articles were written last summer – or whether it is simply my inward sigh at the prospect of another crocked centre forward joining the Claret and Blue ranks – I don’t know. He’d certainly be competitor – if not an upgrade – for Niclas Fullkrug and has had a half-decent season with ten league and cup goals whilst out on loan and importantly, a total of forty three appearances.

Maybe that number of matches goes some way to prove his long term recovery: I just remember Claret and Hugh’s source inside West Ham denying last summer’s rumours, claiming Abraham had too many ACL issues to be ever considered by West Ham. So I’ll hang onto that hope and look forward to this ‘interest’ fizzling out in due course.

I hope.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. Don't take my comments too seriously, imagine we are having a chat at half time over a pint at L S and "let's disagree without falling out".

Why does everyone keep on about fulkrug .he’s hardly been fit .32 years old and came for the money(his words not mine) and scored how many goals. Hardly a yardstick

Serious doubts about anyone being an update on Niclas Fullkrug. West ham need more Fullkrugs on the pitch.

For a change, why don’t we try and sign a striker who hasn’t had a long list of injuries ? you couldn’t make it up. Firstly, we need to sort that ponderous midfield out and get some players who can actually create !!
I just can’t see anything other than a relegation dogfight……

Don’t worry, Tammy won’t join us.

We will probably have an A&E strike force for next season of Antonio, Callum Wilson or Dominic Calvert-Lewin 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Why would any top striker join the Hammers, when the managers priority is defending.
