West Ham have today been linked with a move for Slovenian striker Žan Vipotnik according to a report from The Swansea Independent.

The 24-year-old Swansea frontman was one of the standout strikers in the Championship last season, scoring 24 goals and attracting interest from the Hammers as well as clubs in Portugal.

The 6ft 1in forward operates very much as a traditional target man and Swansea are believed to value him at around the £15 million mark.

Swansea Striker Took Championship By Storm

Highly regarded at Swansea, Vipotnik is very much a fox-in-the-box style finisher, although he’s also produced more than a few spectacular goals along the way.
After an initial settling-in season in Wales, the striker really exploded during the last campaign and quickly established himself as one of the Championship’s most dangerous number nines.

There appears to be very little appetite from Swansea supporters or management to lose him this summer.

However, it is believed the club’s American owners could potentially be persuaded into a sale if bids reach somewhere around the £15 million valuation.

West Ham Need Striker Reinforcements

West Ham will certainly be looking to recruit at least one new striker following confirmation that Callum Wilson will not be extending his stay at the London Stadium.

Presumably we would only be interested if Taty goes? Can’t see us spending £15m on someone who would not be an automatic starter. Currently feeling irrationally optimistic about next season. Fernandes and a few others will need to go clear some debts but having Kretinsky taking a more central role is I think a sign that we will be serious about having a squad that is able to push for a return to the top flight.

Following on from the articles about West Ham’s perilous financial situation; how are we going to be able to afford him ?

Bissaka out for £13m and this guy in for £15m (no Sullivan haggling).
Where do you start with defence Killman/Mavro/Disarsi/Todbido all gone perhaps start with Alpha Toure.
Previously linked to whu and Metz have just been relegated.
Or nearer home Bellis or Shea Charles or Charlie Cresswell.

A bit Mitrović or Chris Wood like, probably not as good, certainly better in front of goal that Pablo, or at least the attacking/defensive midfield Pablo we’ve seen so far. I suspect exclusively CF Pablo will probably be better at scoring goals. Could we have a bit of a bit of a Joelinton on our hands? Would prefer to see us linked with a pace merchant who can finish too.

On a side note, Summerville to Spurs seems to be catching fire. No worries, but surely £60m if he goes to those toerags, £40m if its continental Europe. Premiership tax and all that….
