West Ham linked to another Senegalese striker

strikerWest Ham are reportedly looking at 23-year-old  Senegalese striker Khouma Babacar of Fiorentina.

The player has at times been compared to “a young Didier Drogba” but is more physical and looks suited to the Premier League.

Babacar scored seven goals in 24 games last season and has also been linked to Crystal Palace, Everton, Southampton and has been reported in the Italian press at being available for just £10m.

The agent of Khouma Babacar has remained coy over the striker’s future amid links with Premier League clubs. Babacar was the subject of substantial interest in the January transfer window and was reportedly close to leaving Italian club Fiorentina.

The forward’s agent, Patrick Bastianelli, previously told Radio Blu: “What of Babacar’s future? We’ll see, at the moment he is contracted on the objective to be achieved with Fiorentina.”

Media speculation suggests that fellow Senegalese striker Diafra Sakho wants out of West Ham this summer suggesting he spoke to Slaven Bilic over the weekend and asked to be sold ahead of next season.

  1. Hmmm…What about Belgium’s Battyboy (= Batshuayi) then? If he was so brilliant, how come he didn’t even play for Belgium yesterday. He didn’t even come on as sub, especially when they were losing and needed to change things!…Instead, they brought on Origi (of Liverpool)…I still like the look of Battyboy, even over and above Lacazette, but hopefully it will bring the price down / cool interest of others etc etc

  2. I like the idea of having a Drogba leading our attack, and at the price would cover Sak leaving and put a little in the kitty,
We are going to need more the 1 striker so at 23 we can develop him under Slav,

  3. And there seems to be no plans for a RB, yet concrete plans for a right winger or even 2! Does this mean Bilic is planning for Antonio to languish at RB? If so, what an effing waste. He could be 15-20 goals a season, let alone the assists..And just look at the QUALITY of his goals last season;incredible skill: The brilliant high jump header v Man U last game (my goal of the season, I think); running the length of the pitch to head in against Liverpool, amazing header across goal v Aston Villa, then he could easily have fluffed the goal v Liverpool FA cup (skillful), brilliant near post header v Spurs…Vital goals in vital matches…imagine how many more if he had not been at RB…SO, WHAT IS THE PLAN FOR ANTONIO?? HELLO?? ANYONE OUT THERE??

  4. We are looking at 2 RB at the moment both free,Byram was not brought for nothing Tomo is still here st the moment and our new signing only covers Moses exit,
Don’t worry Monkey Antonio will play his fair share of games on the R Wing,
We only have room for 4 up top if we are sticking with 2 defensive minded midfielders,
With Payet and Lanzini already looking at 2,we now have Valencia,Antonio,AC,Sak and our new boy that leaves 3 for the bench
But we will bring at least 1 more possible Tore
All looks good now for the Emineke replacement ?
