Reports in the Italian media suggest that West Ham’s director of football, Tim Steidten, is interested in bad-boy Nehuén Pérez.
The 23-year-old Argentine defender currently plays for Udinese and has also attracted interest from Napoli. Antonio Conte’s new club offered €16m for Pérez in the winter market but were rejected and it is expected that any club would have to pay €20m for his services.
Last season, the central defender accumulated an astonishing eight yellow cards and one red card, during a campaign marked by ill-discipline. The combination of the Argentine “bad-boy” and West Ham’s card-happy Edson Alvarez could prove interesting next season if he’s signed.
Pérez joined Udinese from Granada in 2021 and has since become an influential member of their squad. He made 32 appearances in Serie A this season, attracting several potential suitors with his performances despite his obvious discipline issues.
The Hammers remain in the hunt for two central defenders during the summer transfer window.
nice one Gonzo! keep this rubbish coming, god you must be bored!
If we did get this character perhaps the entire fan base could each put a tenner on him getting a yellow card and then donate the winnings to the club it could be way way of generating enough money to offer higher wages for better players, you see like Baldrick I have a cunning plan?
You need bad boy defenders, let the opposition know your there. All great team have great defenders in my book
…..let them have it….
Terminates are us……
btw gonzo, some unsolicited advice – do a quick google for player_name scout report – usually they are pretty decent and it’ll give you plenty of background on a players traits
the type of details your readers would love to know about
actually napolis bid for nehuen was accepted, napoli just decided not to go ahead and stick with ostigard – turned out to be the right move
they are of similar quality to be fair but no need to spend the money when you already have it
Its only a minor issue
compared with 70 goals let in
Lucas P will be telling them you get better odds on getting a card in the first half.
If “astonishing eight yellow cards and one red card” in 32 games equals bad boy what does that make Edson Alvarez? According to whoscored.com Alvarez was involved in 42 games for WHU last season and got 17 yellows!
